The UNESCO-World Heritage Site Zollverein contains a co*ke and coal mine that began in 1849. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Ruhr region, with activities including exhibitions, concerts, and dance performances.

Well maintained, nice tour. Nice place to spend a sunny afternoon. Most of it you can visit for free. Tour is a bit rushed now, because they have to cram 2 hours into 1, but still worth it.

It is a wonderful place that has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Although we have a vaccination passport, we could not enter the museum because we did not have a test, but the outdoor and garden tells everything. This is what it means to protect your values. I advise. If you are going during the pandemic period, you cannot see it without a daily test and vaccination passport and mask.

Selma Dertli — Google review

Once a huge coal mine now a beautiful industrial monument in the middle of a park with museums, restaurants, playgrounds, walking and biking lanes. No entry costs except for the museums. You can easily spend the whole day.

Harmen — Google review

What an amazing place of industrial heritage. One can only try to imagine this site bustling with activity, 8000 people on site and the noise and smell and dust and dirt. All this started by Franz Haniel to mine the black gold. We benefited from a well informed tour guide who helped to bring this to life, highly recommended since this gives you access to buildings equipped with sound and video installations.

Marc Willuhn — Google review

Wonderful experience and great museum layout. In addition, a couple of hand made shops compliment the museum area. You could easily spend many hours in the museum. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Sisu Brothers — Google review

It is a very big area which is nicely planned in terms of design, style, service to show history. You can simply touch and feel history and how the weather and the time was earlier. You can also have a guide who can explain you about the history and if you have luck to have someone with a good story telling skills then you can really enjoy the whole visit. There is also restaurant and cafe inside alongside with toilet free of charge. The complex and buildings are distributed a wide area so you may face and see different views

Hiwa Asadpour — Google review

Wonderful place to visit. Unfortunately, they don't have English guides on weekdays, but only on weekends. But we were able to walk around freely through the entire campus. The old coal mine, factory, and machinery looked majestic. A very beautiful place indeed. If you are around Essen, I would recommend this place to visit. And a beautiful location for your photoshoot as well.

Harikrishnan CA — Google review

An interesting Place to visit which grants you a look into the past. There is a lot to see, and tours to be taken. Whether you are young or old, want to walk a lot or not, there is something for everyone. A lot to look at, a lot to explore. You can walk around the premises and take a look at the different sites or take the bus. There is a variety of restaurants and cafes all over the area if you get hungry or thirsty in the meantime. There is plenty of parking so that you should easily find a spot whenever you come. Alternatively the site is easily to reach by public transport.Overall if you are interested in the industrial times you should definitely give this place a visit when you are around.

Julian — Google review

I absolutely loved walking around here, an amazing place, the scale of the factory is mind blowing. Chances are if you’re near here you’re heading for the Ruhr museum, if so definitely take the time to visit this site it’s right opposite the museum you won’t be disappointed. Was very quiet when I visited in November but I’m certain it gets busier when the weather is not so cold

17chameleon — Google review

Informative and well designed museum about the Ruhr area. The museum includes a great viewpoint of the surrounding area and a socio-historic overview of the area. Only reason why it isn't 5 stars is because it felt a bit propagandistic as the environmental impact of the mining industry was barely mentioned. Regardless it is still worth a visit.

Very nice museum, the workers are polite and they have app which has language options to explain everything to you. 3 different time zone museums and extra football museum. From my taste, you should directly go downstairs 12m start with the history (past) museum, i find that s more interesting. In present section lot of photos and not useful information just items. It has wifi and toilet everywhere. For child under 5 age, student whose under 25 its FREE. So enjoy

Maral Od — Google review

The tickets fares are rather confusing. We went on a day where the Red dot Museum was closed. So we only visited the Rhur Museum.I recommend the fare that includes the permanent, the special, and the temporary exhibition. As you have to walk and travel up and down the many floors inside the museum on both sides. There is a rooftop for taking pictures of the monument. But only stairs. Each floor they check if you have the correct ticket so I recommend you take the all-included one as you walk a lot up and down the stairs.Permanent exhibition is about history of the industrial complex and collections. The temporary exhibition is currently about football.

I like here.Student have discount.U could spent all day here. The restaurant also supply tasty and cheap food.

Good place to visit. Could spend hours inside the museum and outside places. The plus point was when I visited the place, there was music and food fest organized by Essen Stadt. Beautiful place with massive architecture of metal. I would recommend to visit it once.Follow for more interesting suggestions and insights.

I love this place and can relate to it to be an UNESCO world heritage. It's absolutely impressive and stunning. As a German I didn't even know what was here to see. Dimensions are huge and the industrial style to me looks surreal. I will definitely come back to see more and make a guided tour. There is a lot of industrial history here.

Lip — Google review

I would recommend getting a guide. Also visit the Red Dot museum and you may skip the Ruhr museum.

A great place to visit. We had a guide who told us about its history in a very interesting way. It's worth listening to and seeing. The very long escalators were amazing.

The museum is just a small part of the experience, make sure to plan up to three hours of time in order to experience the entire campus fully. Many restaurants on site, beer and coffee are easily available. Plenty of places for children to enjoy, as well as adults. Bring a soccer ball if you can!

The Classic Remise Düsseldorf museum houses a large collection of classic and vintage cars, which can be toured by visitors in a short time. The venue is perfect for car lovers who want to see some of the world's most impressive classics up close. It is also frequently used for car repairs and maintenance, so if you're in the area and need help with your vehicle, this is the place to go.

It was very difficult to select only a few photos from the museum. My gallery was full after my visit. It’s just incredible, as a car lover and Formula 1 fan it was perfect. Multi million dollar cars, classic and modern supercars alike. And it was FREE. I highly recommend this museum/collection.

Bogdan Bordei — Google review

A really good collection of old, vintage cars as well as newer models. I really liked the mix of repair shops and restaurants and simulators, like a combination of all things in one place. The layout is a bit less interesting though but the cars do make up for it.

Debabrata Ghosh — Google review

Best indoor car-show I've been too in a while, just walk around and marvel at the collection. Most of these cars are for actual sale and the brokerages as well as finance is on site too. Or just come for the excellent restaurant. Free admittance!

Jan-Wouter Arendsen — Google review

For us car enthusiasts, there are several Meccas. One of them is in Düsseldorf. You have to go to the outskirts of the city, where an old remise awaits, leaving our mouths wide open, jaw-dropping, gasping for air, saying that such a thing doesn't exist, and yet it does… This place is a warehouse, service center, car shop, museum, exhibition hall, and car dealership all at once, and there's even a restaurant.Among numerous unique, fast, and expensive cars.Proud owners store and sell their automotive wonders here, which anyone can come and see, walk around, and even touch if they wish. These are no ordinary cars; here, a Mercedes 300 SL stands alongside a BMW M1, next to the 100-piece limited edition Aston Martin Vanquish S, you'll find the carbon version of the Ford GT, of which maybe two dozen exist, but there's also the Alfa 8C Spider, limited to just 50 units. The masterpiece known as Mercedes Pagoda, a rare sight at home, stands here with two side by side, while the GT and the Lamborghini Diablo peacefully await their fate next to the F8 Spider Ferrari. The McLaren Mercedes SLR 722, of which only 150 were made? Of course, it's there, next to the "regular" SLR. Ferrari Dino, 512, or the Schumacher-tested and developed Scuderia 430? They are there at the end of the hall. Need an old American classic? Ford Mustang or Thunderbird will do? Looking for something English? There's a Lotus or maybe a Bentley. Everything is here. It's madness. But in my opinion, the star of the hall is the Andere Horch roadster. Made in 1935, only seven were produced, and four of them survived. With 101 horsepower and embodying all the automotive knowledge of its time, it's magical, beautiful, with classic lines, in exceptional condition—a wonder of a bygone era with a price tag of nearly 1 million euros, VAT not included. There's no security, no mandatory distance; you can touch anything. Personally, I didn't dare; I was so careful around them, even taking off my wristwatch during the two hours I wandered in this magical place, afraid of scratching the paint of any of the cars.Outside, there's a service center, with mechanics repairing a Lamborghini and another station revving the engine of a Porsche. Cars, the smell of oil and gasoline, an official Gulf store, a professional simulator for one euro per minute, a separate room for engines, exhibitions, a cool Italian restaurant—all of this without a crowd and electric cars.

Mate Budai — Google review

Remise Düsseldorf is an absolute gem for car enthusiasts like me. The best part? You can explore it for free! The collection of cars is mind-blowing, ranging from classic beauties to cutting-edge marvels. If you're as into cars as I am, you'll be in awe of the variety they've got. And guess what? They offer guided tours too, for those who want a deeper dive into the car world. Whether you're with family, friends, or just by yourself, Remise Düsseldorf is a definite go-to. Trust me, it's worth every moment spent there!

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Cologne Cathedral is a huge, imposing building with a beautiful facade. It's also a popular tourist destination with guided tours and views of the Rhine.

Majestic, grand and all those similar adjectives. This is the main attraction in cologne and is worth it. The space around the cathedral is also relaxing. The insides of the cathedral is breathtaking. Also you can climb the tower which is also, literally, breathtaking, since there are 500 odd steps to climb. Visit as early as possible to avoid crowd. It is specially beautiful at night with all the lights, it looks surreal.

Pranesh Dewangan — Google review

The place outside the Cathedral is too crowded and noisy that it is less possible for us to breath. The place is so beautiful and inside of the cathedral is calm and quiet. The art works are extremely brilliant. It would be better to go during the day time especially when it is sunny, so that you can enjoy the colorful glass paintings inside the cathedral.

Neha Nageswaran — Google review

The Cologne Cathedral is a magnificent architectural masterpiece that I had the pleasure of visiting. This Gothic-style cathedral, located in Cologne, Germany, is truly a sight to behold. With its towering spires reaching towards the heavens and intricate stained glass windows, it is no wonder the cathedral has garnered so much admiration and recognition. The interior of the cathedral is equally awe-inspiring. The high ceilings and ornate carvings that adorn the walls add to the sense of grandeur and historical significance that this beautiful building possesses. I was particularly captivated by the organ, which is a remarkable feat of engineering and craftsmanship. The atmosphere inside the cathedral is one of reverence and tranquility, allowing visitors to appreciate the art and spirituality that encompasses them. Exploring the Cologne Cathedral was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Erik — Google review

Very nice cathedral to visit. Free to enter, although the queues can get very long.Worth a visit - and when a place looks this nice, and is free, it deserves a 5-star rating.Check the opening times in advance. There is often maintenance taking place which can affect opening times

Cologne Cathedral and the Love Lock Bridge offer a perfect blend of awe-inspiring architecture and romantic charm in the heart of the city. A must-see for visitors looking to soak in Cologne's rich history and vibrant culture.I just put the photos of some unique locks! On the bridge. It just looks fancy!😅the way back we had a beautiful sunset.

Harsh*tha N.G. — Google review

One of the most mesmerizing pieces of architecture I’v seen in my life. The details, the size, the view, the history and the beauty are all immaculate.I came to cologne on a business trip and on my last day I decided to explore the city and it was the best decision ever and later I read about the cathedral and its history. You can go to the other side of the river to take some nice photos as well. Also note that if you want to get inside the cathedral you’ll have to go between 10:00 and 17:00 on weekdays. The love bridge is also near by which will give you a nice view of the cathedral and the river.

Snowy — Google review

Located in the heart of cologne, right next to the train station. This cathedral is so magical and the view is breathtaking. Would suggest early hours to avoid the crowd. Also there are some relaxing places outside the cathedral. Beautiful at night with lights on. This is also under one of the UNESCO world heritage sites.

Dinuka De Silva — Google review

One of the biggest and the most beautiful cathedrals I have ever been to! You can easily go there by trains as it is located next to the train station. Inside the cathedral, there are many beautiful stained glass windows and I really liked the statues. No entry fee but there are a lot of visitors.

If you're in town, there's no way you should miss it. It's not just about the aesthetics of the church but the whole vibrant atmosphere around it. If you're into a bit of chaos, you'll enjoy various groups engaging in different activities, singing, protesting, and more. But if you get tired of the commotion, the tranquility of the Rhine River is just around the corner, along with great places to eat

Ashraf Saad — Google review

Amazing construction, the heart of Koln. It's the most visited attraction of Germany. You can visit it for free.If you want to go up in the tower you need to climb 533 stairs and pay 6 euros (adult). The view is wonderful.

Sorin Ion — Google review

Amazing Cathedral to see, right in the heart of Cologne. The view is tremendous from all sides on the outside - you'll have no issue spotting the tall spires, and as you close in you'll notice all the magnificent detail in the architecture. You can enter inside (check hours), however, you can't bring in any large bags; and be vigilant of any masses taking place.

Mat Bienczyk — Google review

A remarkable work of architecture that is difficult to fully absorb without being in front of it. There are many details worth appreciating when standing close; but it’s when you step back that you can feel the immense scale of the work. Incredible - and a lot of fun to look at while visiting the Christmas market, if you are here in the winter.

D W — Google review

Free to get in, probably no surprise to many but this place is huge. Very tall, can’t miss it. Came for a day out. Very good fun, not much to do around the area tho. A lot of room inside to look about lots to look at

I highly recommend taking some time to visit "The Dom!" The architecture and craftsmanship that went into that structure are astounding. If you're up for it, climb The Dom and then let your legs rest inside as you take in all the beauty within. Buy the guidebook in the gift shop so you can read more about the artwork and specific features as you're taking it all in. It's a beautiful piece of history to behold.

Huge cathedral in cologneIt was the first time in this city and really enjoyed walking around and seeing so many interesting places and of course this cathedral I couldn’t had it in one flame and also couldn’t had it without the crowd. But we could enjoyed the views from far away. Hope everyone enjoyed visiting this cathedral and this city as wellHave a wonderful trip and a good time with your company❤️

Wow! Such a great Cathedral! So many interesting features. It is absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend visiting it. It's free to enter but the guided tour is worth the €10. Also it's extra for the treasury and climbing the South tower

chris rushworth — Google review

Outstanding! Don't miss the opportunity to go to the top of the belfry (no elevator, might be very cold and windy depending on the season and weather). Free admission to the cathedral, 5€/person - entrance to the belltower. And there is a WC :)

LOVE UKRAINE — Google review

Entrance to Cathedral is free. In front of is the line for security check only. Place is the highest and built with so many details you must visit and see. Inside is possible to light a candle and pray, there is enough space to get peace from tourists for a few minutes. Overall, amazing.

Marina B — Google review

Amazing and breathtaking, a true feat of human engineering. Free entry into cathedral proper, but small fee if you want to climb the tower (~500 steps) or explore the treasury. Main church has plenty to see and its easy to relax and enjoy the organ every so often. Mass is available quite frequently. Such a beautiful and impressive church! Definitely worth a trip to see!

Matthew Allen — Google review

Magnificent cathedral with majestic views. The first view of the cathedral from the train station is breathtaking. The (ticketed) climb up the stairs of bell tower was fun and the views of Cologne from the top were great. Definitely worth a visit.

Going to Cologne Cathedral with your friends was amazing. The building is super impressive with its tall spires and fancy details. When you go to the top, you can see a really great view of the city. It's a really special place shows architecture brilliance, history and culture. Definitely worth checking out!

Anis Kasmani — Google review

It is one of the most visited destinations by tourists, as it is definitely impressive. I was totally fascinated by the architecture of this place.I loved the feeling of tranquility and security inside the cathedral. However, it is also quite imposing. What surprised me the most was the catacombs part.I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit this place.

Janik Tomás — Google review

Cologne Cathedral is beautiful, amazing building. It is 157 m tall and the world’s third largest Gothic-style cathedral with 10,000 square metres of windows and 20,000 visitors daily.A lot of people want to take a picture of it so always is crowded in front of cathedral, but it's worth it.

Aleksandra Nesic — Google review

I visited Cologne for Christmas 2023 and it was a great experience. There were a lot of tourists, big crowds, and there was a Christmas bazaar around the cathedral. This cathedral is my second favorite place in Germany, so I highly recommend everyone to visit it. It's huge size cathedral, look so amazing by night

DarkO Milo — Google review

What an impressive building it is! Beyond imagination. I was blown away and someone even played the organs. Thank you for that.I just do not understand why they decided to build a railway station and a two lane road by the cathedral.

Petr “Švany” Švancar — Google review

Climbed to the top of the cathedral. One stair case for both up and down and over 500 steps on a narrow spiral staircase. Not for the unfit or people scared of tight spaces. However once at the top the views were amazing

John Evans — Google review

This was the first cathedral we went to on our visit to Germany. As we came out of the DB station , the cologne cathedral standing in front looked heavenly... It was a sight which has remained with me till date, the beautiful architecture of the Cathedral along the hotel spaces with the rhine river bridge along it looked mesmerizing...The interior of the church looks beautiful. There is a provision to go till the top through stairs and it gives a birds eye view of Cologne city 🌆The cafes around are a cherry on top, just take a cup of a drink and enjoy the intricacies of the architectural beauty 😍

Sachin Yadav — Google review

We visited the cathedral during the week. Once out of the train station you see the cathedral just outside. Take the opportunity to cross the bridge to the other side of the river and go to the view point. For a small fee you have spectacular views of all the city.

Jessica Álvarez — Google review

The scale of this place impresses me each time I visit. It's an incredible work of art and history. 300 years to build. It would be amazing if restorations were able to occur more quickly to remove more of the black from the exterior. It's truly amazing!

The Cologne Chocolate Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of chocolate. The museum has permanent exhibitions on the history of chocolate from different parts of the world, and includes interactive exhibits for visitors to experience the taste and texture of different chocolates.

What an impressive show of industrial skill. I’ve been to chocolate museums before but this was on another level. It had partially operational industrial machinery demonstrating how chocolate is made now and in the past. Then on top of that it has several historical exhibits, a chocolate shop and a cafe. Nearly everything is in English. Quite the experience for a foreigner.

Aron Steg — Google review

You can buy tickets upon entry, no need for advance tickets unless you want. I thoroughly enjoyed going through the museum and learning the history of chocolate and how it’s made, processed, and used across the world and different cultures.Coolest part is seeing the chocolate actually made right in front of you through different steps. You even get to click a button that pops out the chocolate that was just cooled/made. Definitely worth the visit here in Cologne!

Art Map — Google review

The place is great! A must visit tourist attraction in Cologne. The place is mostly crowded on the weekend and the getting a ticket there might become a big challenge. The place is located right at the heart of the city so it’s easily accessible but parking is a problem, the place doesn’t have its own parking, need to use nearby parking places and walk to the museum. The place has lot of history and future plans for chocolate industry, also the making of chocolate. A whole floor is dedicated for chocolate making and you can see how chocolate bars are made by looking at the working machines. There is also small chocolate outlet to get chocolates and souvenirs from the museum.

Ajay Meganathan — Google review

Very informative museum, plus free samples! Easy to get tickets as they were issued in 15minute increments. Loved the history and the ways so many countries contribute to chocolate manufacturing. Plus great to see chocolate making in action!! Cafe was a nice atmosphere after wandering; crepes were divine!!

Sarah Erickson Simon — Google review

I would not say that this is a must visit on your trip to Cologne. Also with entry ticket at at EUR 14 per adult, the place is a bit expensive. We went to the place as a family with our four year old son. The place gives information on chocolate processing, and one can find live chocolate production happening at the place. You can taste the freshly made chocolate, if you buy tickets to the museum. Overall the place is OK, If you are on a leisurely trip to Cologne, you may visit the place.

NEERAJ MATHEW JOSEPH — Google review

Nice place to have an idea about how the 'Lindt' chocolates are made. Very nice place to take children for their level of excitement.Especially nice to see the different types of process throw which chocolates are made. It's one of a kind experience. Not to forget and miss the free sample tasting of chocolate wafers provided.Wheelchair accessible entrance is available. Exciting information about chocolates are available.

Sharon Elizabeth Delson — Google review

The museum is not so big and the whole tour takes about 1-1,5 h. It's good to come in the morning as it isn't crowded. To avoid waiting in the line, I would recommend buying the tickets earlier via the website. In the museum you can see a lot of information about each step of chocolate production. Actually you will get an answer to all kinds of questions about chocolate. Inside there is a small production line which is very interesting. In the end, you may taste a fresh piece of chocolate or try something sweet from the chocolate fountain. This is definitely a place worth visiting however the price of the ticket could be a bit lower.

zaqwer93 — Google review

It was one of my super nice experiences. The museum gives us all the details of the chocolate 🍫, the history of the owner, and where the farms of the company are.You can bay also pay one Euro to planting one coco tree 🌳

Rana Issa — Google review

Reasonably priced and really enjoyable for people of all ages. Explains where the raw ingredients come from, transport, production (the smell is superb), marketing and sustainability to name a few. Free chocolate along the way including the chocolate fountain, and be sure not to miss the cafe afterwards, the staff everywhere were nice but my server in the cafe in particular was great. Gift shop not silly money either for the quality you’re buying. A must visit!!!

Lee Hinchcliffe — Google review

Really sweet experience! They give some free Lindt chocolate when you enter, good for some sugar rush as you explore the museum. You can try some free chocolates at various chocolate stations. You get to see the process of making chocolate and you’ll also see some robotic machinery they use now.If you come in after 5pm, they have a ticket sale, since they close at 6pm. The chocolates in the store are also priced well.

Abigail Christine Chen — Google review

Really interesting factory museum. I thought they did a nice job including a wide array of interests/considerations to include some relating to fair trade and global warming concerns in the chocolate industry. Lots to look at, you could spend half a day here for sure. Loved the shop, plenty to buy there. One of the coolest things was that you have the opportunity to have a custom chocolate bar made right in front of you!

Crystal Firestone — Google review

Fun for the entire family. I think particularly those with children would do themselves a disservice by not going to this place. But even those who would perhaps have a grey hair more than they would like are still going to find something fun and educational in the visit. The tour is well laid out and you get great views of the city . Its a well spent time in Cologne.

Ruben Williams — Google review

This is an amazing place to be. Although there was a huge crowd both in and outside the museum you’ll love it there. So detailed illustration of how chocolate is made. You’ll also get small gifts both when going in, inside and when going outside. It’s a lovely experience

Queen Akwiwu — Google review

I love chocolate, especially lindt! Complimentary chocolate on arrival was happily received, then an interesting history of cocoa until the best part, the chocolate fountain and factory section. Samples of the liquid chocolate are handed out, I could've stayed in that section the whole time! I wasn't too bothered about the rest of the museum other than the complimentary chocolates upon leaving. The shop had an amazing selection too. Busy on weekends

zbusurprise — Google review

Definitely worth to visit when you’re in Cologne. The museum is full of story and supply chain science of our daily chocolates! 🍫 buy ticket online and skip the waiting lines and come as early as possible, game changer!

Iqbal Ilham — Google review

A beautiful and charming museum. Gives you a nice background about the chocolate making, manufacturing and distribution process. You also get free chocolates! You can also get a chocolate from freshly prepared chocolate. If you want you can also make your own customized chocolate bar. It takes almost 2-3 hrs to roam around the museum. Do not forget to get chocolates from the shop below😄.

Divyanshu Sahu — Google review

We visited the Lindt chocolate Museum recently. We were thrilled to attend the fine tasting session. The narrator gave us an complete overview of the chocolate processing and we had an opportunity to taste some of the products during the process like from the coco beans, coco butter to final stage of finished chocolate.Highly recommend to get an online booking specially during weekend. We saw really huge line on Saturday luckily we had our session booked. Good for kids.

maya soora — Google review

Buy tickets in advance online. Go early, when the museum opens to avoid the crowds. I enjoyed that they showed the entire journey of a chocolate bar. Even showing things like shipping and market share of different brands. Even though I was there on a Sunday there were lots of staff in the chocolate factory showing off their craft which was great to see. The museum also had a history part, detailing things such as chocolate during the wars. So in summary, the museum really has a bit of everything and of course the opportunity to taste the chocolate. I would recommend a visit if in Cologne. Also, if you are there during December the Christmas market in front of the museum was one of the less crowded markets.

Jen Jomp — Google review

It is a well designed museum with a lot happening there. As many others recommended, buy your ticket well in advance and if you're interested in a tour (I highly recommend one) buy it way way in advance.I booked the short course (30 min) that gave an overview of different stages of production with tasting (Yes! we tried a bean!). It was worth the extra 2.5 EUR for sure and was not too long. There's a green house with chocolate and banana trees that have fruits!I recommend going there if you're in Köln. Definitely one of the best things to do there.

Mohammadamin Tajik — Google review

Visiting this museum was one of the best decisions I made when I was in Cologne, Germany.During the tour there are different exhibitions that explain everything from the origin of chocolate, to the way it is processed and obtained, as well as its commercial distribution. The tour is very entertaining, and the best thing is that they give free chocolate samples. Although the price could be considered somewhat high, I think it is totally worth it.

Janik Tomás — Google review

Pretty special museum if you are really into chocolate, infographics, and more chocolate :)Try to avoid visiting during weekends for a less crowded experience, and buy your ticket online to avoid waiting on the queue in the entranceThe museum has nice areas to visit, a cafe and a chocolate store. There is even a roof you can access from outside with a beautiful view

Humam Kay (PXi4-XXAX) — Google review

Super cool. You get to see where chocolate started and all of the processes to make it. There are samples from the chocolate made right in front of you, and you even have an opportunity to have your own chocolate bar made with different toppings. The chocolate tastes better than what is sold in the stores. So delicious and so fun! Use the QR code to purchase tickets. Waiting in line takes a lot longer.

Robyn Early — Google review

That was a nice place to visit when you are in Cologne. Seeing A cocoa tree is interesting and a bunch of interesting information. My only complaint was the people assigned who are helping/ordering the queue. They were rude even on a plain simple question...

Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums

Frankfurt Zoological Garden is a large zoo that features exotic animals from all over the world, including some of the most popular such as zebras, lions, and monkeys. The zoo also has an extensive collection of plant life and offers plenty of activities for visitors such as animal feedings and guided tours.

Must to be visited if you're in Frankfurt, especially with the children. Zoo itself mostly looks like a big park. If would be better to do it during the sunny days, son you fully enjoy your visit.Again, labels and boards with explanation of the animals, insects, reptiles on German only.Try to get a face mask on you before entering or get the one it at the main entrance - mandatory when visiting "apes world" - otherwise precise Germans will remind you about it every 3rd step while inside.

Vita Muradov — Google review

I visited Zoo Frankfurt with my 2 1/2 year old son. We enjoyed seeing the nice variety of animals and the facilities were fairly clean. We were able to find ample parking at a nearby parking garage. Unlike several of the zoos we have been to, most of the exhibits were hard for our 2 1/2 year old son to see on his own. The viewing glass was often too high for him and I would have to hold him. Also the glass in most of the exhibits were hard to see through. These were the only two downsides to the zoo and other than that, we enjoyed our time there.

Justin O — Google review

Lovely place for a day trip / excursion. There aren't many food options so it's better to bring snacks. But there are so many animals and it's not too busy during the day. There are also lovely activities for kids. Definitely recommend!

Kay Kusi — Google review

Very nice zoo to visit especially with kids, saw my favorite animal the rhino. But some animals are missing one early day visit is enough to see the whole zoo. And don't miss the midget goat farm where you can pet the goats

majid abdullah — Google review

AWFUL ZOO!!! If anyone likes or loves animals - you shouldn't visit. In my opinion, it's ANIMAL ABUSE. The animals are in the worst conditions I've ever seen: small cages, not enough greenery if at all!!!! The monkeys are sitting on the concrete floor in a tiny cage, the rhinoceros' bones are seen through it's skin, he was so skinny. The food that was given to the monkeys was wheat. In order to be healthy, monkeys have to eat fruit and veggies. I am a person that loves animals, and I wanted to cry. I think animal rights organization has to be involved.

Kalex — Google review

5 stars despite no lions and one house temporarily closed. The rest of the zoo made up for it. Good sized enclosures. Healthy animals. Fascinating aquarium. Seeing penguins from under water a special experience.

Richard Leathem — Google review

Great place, perfect for kids. Very good for learning about animals and their protection. The big ape department is amazing but it's very sad to see the apes, they're like humans in cages, their expressions are so human and their eyes, their look runs deep into your heart and soul...

Romulus Boicu — Google review

What an amazing zoo! My teenage son and I spent 4 hours exploring the zoo and enjoyed it. We arrived right at opening time on a Saturday and it was not too busy. There are so many areas to walk and there is a playground for the kids as well!10/10 would recommend visiting and spending a few hours there. The gift shop and snack stands are great and reasonably priced. Tickets can be purchased online or in person.

Tela Royston — Google review

Nice place. But not so many options. Whatever they have, most of them are either sleeping or at their home. Cannot be visible!.But nice place for recreation.

Thouhedul Islam Suchi — Google review

Amazing to see a zoo maintained in the middle of such a busy City. Had reasonably good collection of animals. But the cages are built to provide closer to natural ambiance for the animals that in several cages the animals are probably inside their resting area that they are not visible for visitors. From the animals point of view it is good for them that they are not disturbed too much. But from visitors point of view it might be disappointment that we could not see some of them. Also the water in the reservoirs are not that clean. Though it was really good some thing was not giving me full satisfaction to give a 4 or 5 start. This is probably the first time I see a zoo having ants, fly, several varieties of rates and bats. Highlights are Penguins, apes and reptiles house.

My visit to Frankfurt Zoo in 2014 was an exceptional experience that left me thoroughly impressed and delighted. This zoo is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of conservation, education, and entertainment for visitors of all ages. The wide variety of animal species and the well-designed enclosures created an immersive and authentic experience. It was evident that the zoo's focus on animal welfare and conservation was a top priority, as the animals seemed content and well-cared for in their naturalistic habitats. One of the highlights was the Grzimek House, where I had the incredible opportunity to witness a vibrant ecosystem with free-flying birds, wandering reptiles, and curious mammals living together harmoniously. This unique exhibit was a fantastic educational experience that showcased the interconnectedness of different species. The zoo's dedication to education was evident through informative signage and interactive displays, allowing visitors to learn about the animals' behaviors, habitats, and the importance of conservation efforts. Additionally, the friendly and knowledgeable staff was readily available to answer questions and share their passion for wildlife. The family-friendly atmosphere, including playgrounds and picnic areas, made it a great place for a day of fun and exploration. The zoo's convenient location in the heart of Frankfurt also added to the overall convenience of the visit.Frankfurt Zoo truly exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. It's a place where both children and adults can connect with nature and wildlife, fostering a sense of appreciation for the natural world and the need for its preservation. A five-star experience all the way!

Sayak Das — Google review

The location is easily reachable by train. It has variety of animals. Some of them are placed inside of some building and some of them are placed outside.I was happy because I was lucky enough to see 2 tortoise mating in real life. 🤣🤣🤣

Sitia Lestari — Google review

A really great place to go with the kids and spend a nice morning! The option to rent "push trolleys" for the kids was amazing, and very affordable at €5. There were a lot of different animals to explore, it's great for adults and kids. Maybe because of the time of the year, there were a few places closed for renovations. Also, too bad there's no café or restaurant, the only option for food is a fast food truck with sausages and chips. We were really surprised there were no English translations of anything, not even a map with some more information. Overall a great place to visit right in the middle of the city.

Luzia Lopes — Google review

A beautiful and well-kept zoo near the heart of Frankfurt. The staff was amazing and friendly, interacting in both German and English (and likely other languages). The animals are well cared for and it shows! Definitely recommended if you have a few hours in Frankfurt!

Jay Losiewicz — Google review

It was a nice zoo! I went during winter so I didn't expect all the animals to be out, but there were definitely a lot of really good exhibits and a lot of animals that you can still see. It only costs about 12€.

Thomas Berry — Google review

The zoo is a nice place to hang. Better by tickets online or wait in queue at the door. Nice ambiant, atmosphere, good food and the map is a must

Houssam Chidiac — Google review

Catholic cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Mainz Cathedral, a Romanesque structure with a Baroque spire and an ornate cloister, is renowned for its elaborate tombstones. The cathedral is one of the largest in Europe, second only to the Vatican in size. Its architecture and history are fascinating, making it an absolute must-see destination. The cathedral's impressive grandeur sets it apart from others and showcases beautiful design elements in its construction.

Must see cathedral. It’s majestic size. I did not want to compare it to others - but it’s one of the biggest one (except Vatican) in Europe. Absolutely must see.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and three kids ages 6, 4, and 2. This is the best cathedral I've been to with kids, mainly because there was beautiful organ music playing the whole time that made it much less stressful having semi-loud children. There was SO much to look at, and we loved strolling through all the different side rooms and halls. I'm not normally a cathedral person but we thoroughly enjoyed this one. Not a ton of things that the kids wanted to touch but couldn't - most of it is high up where they can't reach, or blocked off. The bathrooms were so-so; 50 cents per person and small. We parked nearby at Parkhaus am Brand, which was an easy-to-get-to underground garage and very reasonably priced (12 euros for 7ish hours).

One of the cathedrals' to be visited while in Germany. It is huge, and is architecturally beautiful. There is a serene silence in the cathedral which helps one to sit in silent reflection. I make it a point to go to the cathedral, whenever I visit Mainz.

The cathedral is a must do in Mainz. The museum is a few euros and intresting if you like religious relics, statues and art.

Like many European cathedrals, this is one worth visiting. Despite the construction work outside it's still accessible although the current entry doesn't exactly stand out. Expect the usual beautiful stained glass, statues and relics.

Martin Witchard — Google review

Oh dear… Mainz Cathedral or St. Martin's Cathedral is located near the historical center and a market square. This 1000-year-old Roman Catholic cathedral is the site of the episcopal see of the Bishop of Mainz. Like everything in the City this monumental building is a mosaic of styles. The fusion between Romanesque (main),Gothic (chapels and bell towers) andBaroque (roof) are serving us a real architectural treat. Over the centuries, seven coronations of kings took place in Mainz Cathedral.

Mate Auck — Google review

It’s a must visit while visiting Rhine region. The remarkable cathedral and its dome sits in the old town. The architecture is magnificent with high arches, tombs for historical influential people and central old sculptures. It’s captivating just wandering around. And feels so peaceful sitting inside. There is a nice courtyard inside the cathedral.

Landmark hilltop monument accessible by foot or cablecar, with dramatic river & valley views.

The view is breathtaking. The monument is worthy to see. United we win. The historical perspective is one of the kind.. bucket list checked.

A very beautiful, hilarious and mighty monument...you simply must respect it, the builders and creators as well, you must love the place. The view is breathtaking, it is picturesque and just overwhelming...the river Rhein, the little town, the small hills around...everything....and if you decide to walk up to it through the wineyard you will enjoy it even more (just take enough water)

Dzenis Imsirovic — Google review

This monument is situated in one of the most beautiful places of Germany called Rudesheim. Surrounded by lush green vineyards and easily accessible by a cable car which provides views which will stimulate anyone for years after their visit. A mist visit for anyone going to Germany. While returning we took the walking trail which passes through the vineyards, slowly ascending from the beautiful birds eye views to the green surroundings of the vineyards. The entire trail is a few kilometres long, and is worth taking.

Sachin Yadav — Google review

If you have physical limitations, take the chair lift. If not, it's worth the uphill hike through the vineyards. There is no shade on the hike up, so be prepared, take water. The sun beats down on you for a while. The monument is stunning and grand, not to mention the view over the Rhein. There's a restaurant at the top of the hill, in case you need refreshments after the hike. This was my 2nd time visiting so it was worth seeing more than once.

A very impressive monument built in the late 1800’s to commentate the unification of Germany. THIS IS NOT A WAR MEMORIAL .There is ample paid parking on a very well organised and maintained site which is well lit and has a lot of seating offering fantastic views of the Rhein river and of course the memorial itself. There’s a very good restaurant here on site with a good selection and outdoor seating area too. The memorial is also accessible to and from Rüdesheim via a cable car lift.

Niederwald Landscape Park near the Rhein river in Rüdeshiem, Germany. This is another spot where you can take your family for a chill and relaxing tour. In order to go to the top, we gotta take the tram which was free. The view was breathtaking and don’t get me started on the amazing interactions with the people there. It was lovely experience and I hope to go back very soon :)

Astonishingly beautiful scenery and view, even during windy winter time. The Monument's massiveness is suprising and impressive, there are many wineyard paths to walk in the nearby area, a restaurant, and soon after Covid they will open the cableway (Seilbahn).Parking is 8€ for the whole day, right on top of the hill- limited spaces, and a very slow ticket machine, though.

We got up here by a very scenic cable car ride🚠 Cute little cable car for 2 person! The view over the Rhine river is quite amazing with fields of vineyard along the river!

Legolas Ng — Google review

Loved our small little trip. The chairlift was extremely safe and totally worth it. The view from above was the best thing. The monument was spectacular and the history behind it was intresting. Why i am giving it 4 stars is simple we paid for the boat to get to the monument and also the chairlift still when we reached the top we had to pay for toilet. They should atleast not ask extra.

Amber Ahmed — Google review

You still have to queue even if you buy tickets in advance but its not a long wait. The ride on the individual cable cars is spectacular. The view at the monument is amazing and the stories behind it are fascinating. It's very peaceful up there. Gift shop and snacks available. The greatest Elvis filmed in number 76. We also came down in number 76.

This place is worth the time and effort to visit. You can actually walk up to this place from the town of Rudesheim. The cable car is the way to go up. If you have the time, you can walk Babco*ck down through the vineyards with the constant beautiful scenery of the Rhine River as you walk down. The history of this place is explained in several languages when you get up to the monument.

This is, quite simply, a stunning memorial to the Franco-Prussian War. And if you are unclear as to the details surrounding this major conflict between the Second French Empire and the North German Confederation, oh my - just do a quick bit of research - this war forever changed the face of the European Continent and shaped it into what we more or less see today. This war changed everything. And this monument is beyond gorgeous and, whether you would have been on either side of the battlefield, this monument is meaningful.

The castle, built in the 16th century and made of red Neckar sandstone, is a prime example of German Renaissance architecture. Museum

Heidelberg Palace is a ruined red sandstone castle that sits on a hillside in the heart of Heidelberg, Germany. It is one of the most beautiful ruins in the world and is popular with tourists for its incredible views across the Neckar River. The only way to see the interior of Heidelberg Palace is by tour - after 6pm it is open to the public for free.

Beautiful, highly recommend for a lazy stroll. The views of the palace and the city from the terrace is breathtaking. We went on a rainy day and still managed to have a great time. There’s a short hike, moderately steep but absolutely doable. Wear comfy shoes. I saw some cars up there too, so I guess it’s possible.

Michele Sidoine — Google review

Really cool castle! The views of the city are incredible. The walk up is pretty steep so be prepared if you are going that way. Don’t miss the pharmacy museum and the giant wine barrel. The inner part of the castle costs 9 euros but it’s worth it. Also check out the garden in the back for even more great views.

If you like explore castles, this will be educational and fun.Starting with a hike up the castle is highly recommended! It made me appreciate so much modern amenities - there is a cable car you can purchase to go up and down as well (€9 will get a person up and down the hill for the castle). The grounds outside the castle is fun to walk around simply for the view it offers of the town. Once up at the castle level, get ticket to the courtyard. It can be included in the cable car. It will take maybe an hour or hour and half but seeing the massive wine barrel - it will be the biggest ever! and learning about the start of medicine/ pharmacy in Germany will be a fun experience in the museum inside. Wander around to the front of the castle the view is great not just the old town below but also the castle structure itself.Happy travels

The palace gardens are also a true wonder.

Some really great views of the city and the area below. A lot of good walking. There's plenty to see. However, I was disappointed that I was displaced from the ticket shop for not having the right mask on. Apparently the n95 mask that I had on did not suffice. I'm sure this will change in time.

Great attraction. There is a train to the top, I learned this after walking up the dang hill. Wonderful views of the city. The architecture and decor are awesome.. The statues have amazing details carved into them. The garden is huge. The pharmacy museum was very interesting and offers signage in multiple languages to include English. Definitely worth taking family when they visit. Bonus, it's open on Sundays.

Such a nice place! Both the castle and the gardens are worth a visit. You can access the gardens for free but will have to pay to enter the courtyard.Adult ticket is 9€ (August 23), which also includes access to the funicular going up and down. You'll need to pay an extra 6€ if you want to actually enter the castle which is only available through guided tours.

Great place to check out, it was wet and windy but we still enjoyed the site and your. Highly recommended the guided tour, they take you through the castle you can’t go through with a normal ticket. The garden was really cool with great city views and we could see the hustle bustle of Christmas markets from there too. The tour showed us some cool stuff in the castle and told us pretty detailed history about it. The tour group wasn’t huge either so could see/hear pretty much everything. Only 8-10 min walk up a hill or stairs to it also on old cobble stone walkways. Hope to see again some day.

What a beautiful place. Rich with history. The palace is well worth taking a tour. I went with some friends and we really enjoyed taking photos and admiring at the grand and plentiful works of art. The view is incredible. The tour (i took in English) allows you to walk inside the hallways. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the palace.

One of the best “ruins castles” in Germany. We really enjoyed the tour through the castle. The views of Heidelberg from the castle are fantastic as well. It is a bit of a hike to get up to the castle. I would recommend taking the tram if you have issues with climbing stairs and hills or have strollers or older folks with you. The climb is pretty significant. I have now been to this castle several times and I’d go back again and again. Such a great place with such an interesting history.

Kris Allee — Google review

It’s an amazing castle, I will tell any one about my visit there, the view from castle above the city is beautiful. If you would visit it, try to go before 5:30 pm, because the bus from down to castle through the mountain will close and last trip to enter it will on 5:30. It costs 14€ or 9€ for adults to buy a ticket. Garden around the castle is also nice. Enjoy 😊 (The stairs are long if you want to walk up, you can go up walking but maybe will be difficult for some people)

Samer Fahed — Google review

Amazing place, I could expend days just wandering inside and outside the castle, is simply amazing. The views that has to offer are also out of this world! I bought the ticket for €14 that allowed me the funicular and museums and then at the castle bought the audio guide which is totally worth it tbh. They had it in different languages. There’s also a Michelin 2020 restaurant inside the castle.

Cesar Holguin — Google review

Very nice old palace, you should definitely walk around and visit the garden. All the surrounding are accessible for free. But the entrance to the courtyard costs 9 euros. It’s unreasonably expensive, on my opinion. The size of the yard and what you can see inside is not worth the money. The yard is really small and partially closed for restoration, some cars are parked in places, there are too many people... In addition, to get inside the castle you need to pay even more and book a tour. So I was very disappointed. But again, the castle itself is spectacular and worth to visit, just consider thoroughly whether you need to go in.As an advantage, free toilet next to the cash register😉

Oleksandra Silik — Google review

This castle is located atop a hill with beautiful views of Heidelberg. There are several displays inside showing what early pharmaceutical equipment was like. You can walk to the top of the biggest wine barrel you will ever see. There is a large open area where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the views. Food is available at a couple of different places on the castle grounds. The castle is accessible by foot (a little bit of a climb) or by train (tickets are available for purchase). You could easily spend a couple hours here.

Chris H — Google review

A beautiful, amazing site that has tremendous views! Over looking the entire old town, this castle is a must stop if In Heidelberg! I highly recommend going there during sunset because it’s magical to watch the city and castle grounds light up at night!

MrKingluke663 — Google review

I find this castle ruins romantic, specially when going there before sunset. Start by exploring the old bridge which offers lovely views to the city and the castle. Then walk around the old part of Heidelberg city. There are many restaurants offering different cuisines and amazing architecture. Then walk or drive to near the castle and spend the late afternoon there. There are benches to sit on.

Emy Evans — Google review

Definitely worth the trip. I took the funicular railway from station Kornmarkt, they offer different tickets, 1 to the castle, single or return, another 1 to the top. I bought the whole trip to the top, cost 14 euro. Price include entry to Heidelberg Palace. U can go all the way to the top then to the palace or stop at palace then continue to the top. I went to the top first, it was very foggy due to rain, fully covered with fog, mist. I just walk around a bit to enjoy the nature n cold. Then I went to the castle, was raining... but it has a much better view at the castle. It is so beautiful, although ruined but still majestic. There are 2 museums, pharmacy and the brewery..is free, just go in to get some shelter...but the wine barrel is so huge and the wood used to construct the barrel is so solid. I would highly recommend a trip to Heidelberg Palace/ castle

Eunice Ang — Google review

The majestic castle ruins in Heidelberg look down on the city is one of the most impressive sites to see. It is an absolute recommendation for a day trip, with great views on the city and beautiful architecture that you can enjoy even though most of it is ruins. There is a unique pharmacy history-museum, a nice cafe in the cellar, and there was a huge Playmobil exhibition last time.we visitied.

A. S. — Google review

A wonderful landmark, overlooking the beautiful town and running river.Castle itself is mostly in ruins, though they converted the main ground into some simple and small museums.

lovely views, interesting history. the ticket to enter the castle was only 9€ and was absolutely worth it. we spent around 3 hours just walking around and taking in the surroundings. i recommend bringing good and comfortable shoes 👍

Heidelberg Castle is a true gem nestled in the heart of this historic city, and my recent visit left me utterly spellbound! The absolutely breathtaking view of Heidelberg city. The architecture, the history, and the sheer grandeur of Heidelberg Castle make it a must-visit destination. But the real magic happened when I reached one of the viewpoints overlooking the city. The panoramic view of Heidelberg spread out beneath me was nothing short of spectacular. I definitely recommend also taking a tour of the topmost part of the castle.

Greeshma jain — Google review

A truly amazing infrastructure with a breathtaking view of the city of Heidelberg. It was well worth it coming here. I took the stairs going up which I wouldn’t advise if you’re not doing much cardio like me. Better to use the other path or the cable car.

Francis Palalon — Google review

Visually appealing historical monument that tells the story of opulence and power. Every ornament has creative details of history and artisans with skills beyond ordinary. The texture, color and breadth of the different parts of the castle are worth seeing in a lifetime.

Arnaud Guanco — Google review

A must see.We visited on a Sunday in late Feb 24. Weather was cold but dry. Wear comfortable shoes/trainers.This is a great place to go and visit. Park in the underground carpark in the centre of town. Allow at least 3 hours for a visit. Entrnace was €9 per adult (includes a return ride in the funicular and entrance to the castle). We also booked an English speaking tour (lasted about 90 minutes and you get to see places the public are not allowed in (€6 per person - you can purchase it when at the castle, but check times first. Highly recommended). Most information boards in English and German. A couple of souvenir shops.

Awesome place for a day out (or in). Very well curated technical museum with tons of machinery to see and best of all interact with. The biggest machines are also accessible and you can climb inside and have a look: airplanes, a space shuttle, boat, submarine, trains. It's an endless list and definitely worth a full day visit. Great for kids too as they're allowed to touch and even have a giant slide from a top a Lufthansa airplane. Absolutely recommended!

Kamelia Stanoeva — Google review

A must visit place! Great collection of vehicles, planes, ships... even a submarine. The kids loves it as well. Nice restaurants. Easily can spend whole day there. Totally recommended.

Georgi Canev — Google review

Very interesting and great value for money. The exhibits are amazing and well laid out and maintained. We could only manage half a day but could have done with more time. Great for children as well!

Lui Renzo — Google review

Great place for kids but also technically interested people in general. Not that cheap for entry fee, but totally worth it. Can easily spend up to 5 hours in there and you can come back multiple times, as there is plenty of information to read.

Lukas L — Google review

Incredible museum, just perfect. The planes outside were amazing, and while it was closed due to it being wet, there is a huge slide which looked amazing. Cinema in there was great too Space section was very cool and going onto the wing of the plane was very fun!

Tom Boag — Google review

Fabulous place for a family trip. Fun and learning at the same time. The museum has got a huge collection of aircrafts, Automobiles. The space section is also great with lots of models and historical details about various space and moon missions. For me personally, the highlight was the robot at the gift shop that picks and delivers you the stuff you choose to buy.We also enjoyed the simulation vehicle at the entrance of the museum. There are washrooms in both the sections, that's a big plus being with kids. The cafeteria inside the premises is also very good. Pizza, coffee etc. are delicious and not too pricey.Must visit 👍

Vivek Rai — Google review

Wow! What a great museum. My son loved checking out the planes, trains, boats and more! This place is huge and well organized. Employees are friendly. Most signage was bilingual (German/English) which was helpful. We also had lunch in the restaurant and found the food to be decent. The only downside is the cost. I found the entry fee to be a bit steep. Could be an expensive day trip.

Jeremy Majeski — Google review

Fabulous museum. Scary trip up to 747 perched up in the air on top of a building. A bit too high up for me so I went to Viscount plane instead. Still weird to be walking through a plane perched at an angle. Rest of museum very impressive. Unfortunately I couldn't appreciate it fully as was only in Speyer for a couple of hours - needs a full day to get round all the exhibits..

ajsw six — Google review

An amazing day out, so much to look at and it was fascinating. You could go inside loads of planes, including the 747 where you could even walk out onto the wing. Planes, helicopters, trains, submarines, cars, fire engines, motorbikes. Could spend days there. Highly recommended, and we chose to visit it over the other nearby Technik museum as this one is more focused on aviation.

Daniel Miles — Google review

I also visited their sister museum in Sinsheim. Speyer had a great space exhibit and really good aircraft, submarines etch. You name it, it's probably here. I'll definitely visit again.

Trevor Hunt — Google review

Good size museum if you like planes and cars and out of space. The IMAX we saw was in German so we didn't underhand a lick of it it was still pretty cool. If you ever wanted to stand on a planes wing a few stories up and wonder what your doing up there.. this is the place for you.

Carlos Herrada — Google review

Not as good as in Sinsheim, but still perfect and worth visit. Unfortunately.... some exhibits were closed for no apparent reason. Some of them were closed only in the morning, not after lunch 🤔. It looks more like a mistake than a covid regulation. Pity..it would otherwise be 5 stars.

Dominik Debef — Google review

Loved visiting this museum! The vehicle displays are incredible, there is a vast amount of history here. It’s a great museum for anyone interested in transportation of all kinds, especially kids. ***TIP: Be sure to bring some change to make some of the displays work. One of the interactive displays involves climbing up a bunch of stairs in order to slide down a long slide….it’s a bunch of fun!

The Daisy — Google review

Amazing museum, they have everything.Entrance tickets costs 21 euro and parking is 5 euro. But it's totally worth the price because this place is big and has a lot to offer. Definitely go there if you can!

kevin vrolijk — Google review

Travel back in time and enjoy the details of every little piece of art.The museum is a piece of heaven for enthusiasts and soon-to-be enthusiast. Great variety of different exhibits. It takes on around 3-4 hours to see all the exhibits. Make sure to take a slide carpet before you walk upstairs to see the 747 ;)

Ma Drogo — Google review

The museum is amazing. Kinds under 4yo are don't pay entrance. There's parking lot but it costs 5€. To see some attractions working you must pay for it. The IMAX is amazing although the scanners don't work properly. Gift shop has not so much to choose. Exposed pieces are scarced although amazing. Restaurant is ok although more food might be required.

leokaiser1024 — Google review

Awesome museum with numerous displays outside, as well as in multiple hangers and buildings. We spent about 2-3 hours enjoying the museum and then purchased several neat items in their Giftshop!

Wonderful museum for those interested in aviation, automobiles and space exploration, among many other things. So much to see, and it’s really cool that you can see a lot of planes from the inside. For the €22 paid it’s definitely worth a visit!

As big as Technik Museum Sinsheim, but no tanks:( Lots of airplanes, all sizes, 747, AH 22, etc. Restaurant, WC, playground, not free car parking - €8.

We really had an awesome time at this museum. If you're coming in on the Rhine River you don't really need a guide at all just a map. The place is less than a quarter mile from the port and easily found using Google maps.I had to wait in line behind a bunch of 6-year-olds in order to get my photo and video inside the fire truck but it was well worth the wait :-)We were there for a couple of hours and still did not get to see everything. This place has got a lot of things that are very interesting and the details are listed in English as well as German.Self-guided tour is less than $10 per person!!

Well this museum is HUGE! Main focus is car related, but they have a big amount of planes and trains too. Hoped it would be less cars and more mixed technical stuff. Restaurant only has pastry of big meals. Would be good if they served sandwiches too.

The museum is a very complex experience, I would say it is worth visiting with all the openness and patience available.Minimum 2-3 hours visit. Tickets can be bought on the spot.Of course the main attractions are Concorde and Tupolov, absolutely fantastic.

Excellent museum. Great setup. The exhibition changes over time. It takes a couple of hours to go around. Explanations of the exhibits are in German and English. Good for kids. It is good to have 1 euro coins for additional facilities (carting, slide, etc.)

This is one of the largest collections I have ever seen, and it has a little bit of everything, entry is quite cheap, and a great price for the amazing vehicles and artifacts you will see, with the addition bonus of a 10,000 step workout. You start with a tour of Halle 1, though a primarily American collection of sports cars, which include a Ford GT, a C5 Corvette, and a 1965 Mustang, just to name a few, then heading up the stairs, there is an elaborate history display of World War II, with fascinating exhibits which include a crashed WWII plane that was scavenged from the ocean floor, a panther tank with moving tracks, and a moving turret. Continuing on to the outdoor exhibit where various tanks are on display, as well as a helicopter. Heading to Halle 2, you are greeted with a crashed Porsche, followed up with a great demonstration of trains, and sports cars from all different eras, which include the like of the Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Countach, and many F1 cars. Continuing on, there is a 24H of Le Mans display with cars like a GT40 (Replica), legendary Porsche cars, and new Toyota Hybrid hyper-cars. Going to the roof, the main attraction is the legendary Concorde, which you can go inside, and view the awesome exhibit of this historic masterpiece. There are many other planes that have tours, one of them has a slide that brings you back to Halle 2. The food tastes great, but beware, there are no free refills on drinks. The gift shop contains a number of cool memorabilia, and shirts, a great selection to choose from. Overall a fantastic experience, and a great showcase of all these legendary vehicles.Tried to post the pictures in order, but the videos come first.

What an absolutely amazing museum, English translation on 95% of the information displays. An outstanding collection of automobiles, aeroplanes, helicopters and motorcycles as well as military equipment. The place is huge, with 3 hangers to walk around and the sky deck full of aircraft.I would highly recommend a visit to this museum for anyone not just those interested in technical and automotive. There are two restaurants on site and a children’s play area which looked great fun for the little ones.

A must visit if you are in the area and a fan of classic vehicles. There are several large halls and outdoor exhibitions that feature everything from military vehicles to race cars. Amazing museum, full of history, details and attentions to all genres and ages.We visited with children ages 6-10 and they were fascinated and excited.A MUST place for any car lover, flight enthusiast or even women 🤪Plenty of special activities for the kids, though require separate fee. Sliding in a bag from an airplane is a must experience!

Very nice exhibitions and it's awesome that you can view some of the planes from the inside. Very pricey (21€ per person) but it's somewhat justified. Takes a good 3-4 hours to see everything in peace. When the submarine arrives, it'll be another reason to revisit the museum. 8/10

The trip to the museum was present for my husband’s birthday, who is an aviation nerd, but I actually enjoyed it as much as him. Great exhibition, including a lot of vintage cars, motorcycles, planes and many more, with a lot of entertainment for all ages. The one in Spyer is also amazing, so definitely go and visit them both.

The museum is gigantic! Its exhibits show various locomotive machines, cars, bicycles and even airplanes from different periods in human history. The best thing is that all the machines were used at some point, which is quite impressive for very old devices.Personally, I could consider the Concord the most attractive objectI don't consider the entrance expensive because they allow you to enter some exhibitions (get on trains or planes), spend all day in the museum and even take thousands of photographs.

Catholic cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Cathedral of Strasbourg is a beautiful, gothic edifice built in 1187 to 1439 with a 16th-century astronomical clock and rose window. It is considered the world's tallest building from 1647 to 1874 and still the sixth tallest church today. The walls of the cathedral keep a 1000-year history of luck and disappointment, victorious victories and unforgivable defeats.

What a wonderful cathedral!! The clock inside is really neat. I loved the nativity scenes and I'm so glad they were still up when we went in January. We climbed up the tower, which was a highlight of our entire vacation!

Spring Clark — Google review

This is a must see location if you are within 100 miles. Strasbourg the old city is just incredible for old buildings and interesting sites. The Cathedral is very impressive from the outside and the inside is just Great. The altar and the backdrop are very well done. The stained glass is amazing as well. I walked to the top of the Cathedral and highly recommend doing this if you can. Great views and interesting views of the Cathedral as you climb.

Bruce Kuhle — Google review

Very impressive building! Inside pretty dark and some part is still in renovation. The clock on the right side worth to see. I enjoyed visiting it. The most spectacular was illumination show, special lights and music at night. Wow!

Bo?ena K — Google review

Very impressive cathedral. Specially the stunning astronomical clock which is a master piece of engineering and is a must see if visiting.cathedral is very big. Inside always prayers are going on.recommend to visit at night so you can see the most spectacular music and light show projected onto the exterior of the cathedral.Infront of cathedral many shop having so many instruments and also live paintings will be going on.

Vinod M — Google review

Exceptional views, beautiful architecture, in my eyes it is a must to visit during your stay in Strasbourg. Ticket is absolutely worth it, considering the effort to climb the way up. Inside the cathedral entry is free. The size, area, mosaics made me deeply think how much time and effort it took to create and build this miracle. Miraculous❤️..

domas sem*nauskas — Google review

Absolutely beautiful! There is an amazing clock in the back right corner that does a little something every 15 minutes. It’s not amazing but it’s cute and fun to see if you’re around. The gift shop was great and some good finds for good prices. The nativity scene inside was absolutely gorgeous!

Aly McDay — Google review

This was a beautiful cathedral in a beautiful city. Had such a great time. There is a little train right outside that you can take for 8 euro that will give you a tour of the petite France area.

Sonia Naeemi — Google review

Came over from offenburg Germany. It was a short drive. It was on a French holiday so I think it was extra busy. The cathedral was very pretty. You could walk around on your own. There was no English translations quite. If you get an app on your phone you can just shine it on the signs and it'll read it in English for you. It was a recording picking on every now and then to ask us to shush. Although I don't think we were being loud, the crowd was in the church at that time.

Elizabeth Scheuer-Murphy — Google review

Behold the awe-inspiring Strasbourg Cathedral 🏰✨ A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, this iconic symbol in France stands tall with centuries of history. From its intricate facade to the panoramic views from the tower, every detail whispers tales of resilience and grandeur.

I was surprised to discover that this is also a beautiful cathedral. It is not that far from the one in Paris. The line to get in (on the left of the front side) is for free but can get very long. The line for going up to the tower (on the right side) has a cost. Definitely recommended!

Alberto Romay — Google review

Fantastic place, great both inside and outside. Definitely one of the most beautiful cathedral where I've been. Stunning view when you see it between narrow streets.Acoustics inside also very nice.Definitely worth to visit.

Dogsla — Google review

Very impressive cathedral. It is breathtaking to look up and realize how small we are. It is a very historical cathedral and 142 m high. It is for free to go up the stairs. The view has to be amazing. Unfortunately the queue on weekends especially sundays is too long. But the city has a very nice atmosphere. I liked and enjoyed it a lot.

Sinja Merkel — Google review

The cathedral is breathtaking from every angle, with stained glass, spires, and intricate designs living every inch of the building. You won’t find yourself bored when visiting here. I waited for maybe a minute to get inside and did not have to pay. Niece inside you are free to walk around within the designated areas. If you are feeling in the mood, you can buy and light a candle in the cathedral. There is also two gift shops!

Abby — Google review

Absolutely beautiful but at the same time has to make you question the money and power of the church. It is a beautiful sight but the people could benefit in so many more ways than the enormous expense building.

David Molner — Google review

Very impressive cathedral especially the stunning astronomical clock which is a master piece of engineering and is a must see if visiting. I highly recommend visiting again at night so you can see the most spectacular music and light show projected onto the exterior of the cathedral.

Wandering Sponge — Google review

A wonderful cathedral, truly a work of art in every way. Entrance is free into the church, but a ticket of 8.5 euro to take the stairs up - which you must do, the views are spectacular {approx 300 steps up and 300 down, on a spiral staircase}. The clock at the back is a marvel to behold, from the 16th century. The church area is peaceful, take some time to sit and reflect no matter your religion.

Mini Rag — Google review

The Cathédrale Notre Dame of Strasbourg is a magnificent cathedral in Strasbourg. It's tall and carries rich architectural heritage of historic France. The outside is full of intricate sculptures and details. Inside, colorful stained glass windows light up the place when the sun is out. You can climb up to the top for amazing views of the city and the ticket costs €8. It's a must-visit if you're in Strasbourg.

Today is a sunny day and it’s a nice opportunity to take photos of The Cathedral Notre Dame de Strasbourg. No fee to enter the Cathedral, only security check on bags. It’s a Saturday and there were many people around the square. Part of the Cathedral is under renovation, yet we still managed to see the major parts of the building.A historical building with impressive architecture.A local friend gave us some tips. The best time To go up to the top of the cathedral is around lunch time. Sensible and perfect idea 👍🏻

Wasn’t a huge fan of Strasbourg overall, but the cathedral is absolutely worthy of the trip; it is imposingly beautiful inside and out. You can see the cathedral from just about anywhere in the city and it’s still difficult to fathom the size of it once you’re upon it. It was stunning.

Brisippus — Google review

Beautiful Historic Monument. Probably one of the most beautiful religious cathedral from France.Specific times to get inThe astronomical clock is impressive and has so many resources and surprises. The man speaking once in a while on the microphone to ask people to turn the volume down is the one making most of the noise.Go visit this landmark.

Eric Jetner — Google review

Absolutely amazing and beautiful work of art!! Breathtaking views!!! Well worth the price. If you are afraid of heights do not go on the tower. My daughters had no issues.

Chris Underhill — Google review

The most conspicuous building in Strasbourg. It’s full of beauty and historical charm. There are lots things to see - external decorations, climbing to the top to have a great view of the city, internal decorations and carpets. Finally there is the Astronomical clock inside. The history of the cathedral reflects the history of the city which is breathtaking. In front of the church you can find lots of Noel markets in the holiday season in winter.

Lovely chapel at the top of a mountain. The view on sunny days is incredible, you can see as far as Strasbourg. Lots of pretty buildings to visit and learn about, the place oozes history. The café is very good, and for adventurers, take the path down to the natural water source. You can even drink the water, so fill your bottles before going for a walk!

The place has really something. My grandparents were coming here already and I come with my kids. It’s a place to meditate, to hike, to discover and to pray if you feel like.

Water & Amusem*nt Parks

A very beautiful family park, if I wanted to explore it thoroughly, a day wouldn't be enough. It is ENORMOUS.Entertainment, games, shops and restaurants from different countries.I went with my wife and had tons of fun.You can go with the children as there are games for kids of all ages.

Waleed Alsaleh — Google review

the best park I ever visited, numerous times, took my family recently after a long time and was not disappointed. Highly recommend. If you are not familiar with the park, best plan 2 days. Unforgettable for young and old. The management works tirelessly to add new exciting things and maintain the established rides. The gardens and plants are exquisite and in pristine conditions. It's a joy to wander through the different gardensCongratulations.I visited first time when the park opened in the mid seventies, it's come a long way.

thea heinig-lazarou — Google review

One of the best place to visit while travelling to Germany. This place is full of adventure and beautiful view. You can enjoy here with your partner as well as with your family or kids. It has both options either you can chill with your kids or if you want a quiet place then you can also get that. My overall experience here was amazing and I enjoyed everyday during my stay. There is bus shuttle service inside Europa park by which you can travel from one place to another free of cost inside Europa park. And specially the staff over here is very friendly and polite. 😍😍😍

Rahul Dogra — Google review

Best theme park I've visited. Everything makes sense, it's clean, the details are amazing. Would recommend using the single riders line once in a while, it'll safe you some time. There's something for everyone

Europapark is without a doubt the BEST amusem*nt park in Europe! The attractions, the atmosphere, the decorations. A lot of roller coasters, it sounds amazing! You can check the park from the monorail too and eat in different kids of restaurantsYou can spend the night in one of the themed hotels. Here you can enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet in the morning. You can also eat in one of the other hotels

Aakash Christ — Google review

This has to be the best theme park I have ever visited. Amazing selection of rides for all ages. From gentle themed rides to super coasters. Definitely fun for all the family and I would even go as far as saying better than Disney land Paris. Well definitely visit again.

Ian — Google review

Definitely the best amusem*nt park that I have been to! Not just the parking area is very well organized, they’re very considerate about the queue lines. Most of the time, we didn’t have to suffer the strong sun while waiting in lines!

I had the most amazing day at this Europa park, all the attractions are so cool, nicely maintained, specially do not miss the silver star and voletarium. incredible experience indeed. There is fun for every taste and every age, Food stations are everywhere with various offers. must-visit indeed!

Elene Kardava — Google review

Wow Where Do I Start. This park is amazing, it’s one of the best if not the best in the World.Arrived at 08:30 and some attractions were already open 😲, then walked on rides majority of the day and didn’t wait more than 25 minutes. Did 30 rides and left at closing time. Experienced 1 minor breakdown the whole day which saw can can coaster close for a max of about 10 minutes. They kept silver star & can can coaster open a little longer after park close so people didn’t leave without riding one last ride due to the breakdown.Operations were world class too, staff were friendly and extremely efficient. Food was good except the Food Loop which was quite expensive. Paid €15 for a burger on it’s own but it was tasty so I’ll give them that 🤣As a whole the park is extremely clean, well looked after and so well ran. Over 2 days did 55 rides and experienced shows and had time to eat and shop. Will definitely be back next year 👍Parking was also efficient. Was in and out in no time. Entering the park was just straight in. Long Opening Hours too so no need to rush and plenty of transportation attractions such as a train and 2 monorails.I recommend this park as it is PERFECT FOR EVERYONE!

ThemeParkJaden — Google review

Give yourself at least 2 days. The park is huge and there is so much to do and see. Since it was a slower season, many food places were closed or running on shorter hours, and I would have liked more regional food for the areas. All around amazing experience, and the queues were shorter than we expected given the size of the park.

John Patterson — Google review

What an awesome experience coming here in winter ❄️ I could have never imagined how beautiful the park is during that season and highly recommend coming here! ❤️🙌😍The decoration is stunning and especially during the dark daytime is can become breathtaking- too much to take in, in just one day

Peter R. Reuter — Google review

It‘s amazing how this park has developed and grown over the years. It takes a least two days to see the whole park and enjoy most of the rides, shows, etc. You can see the effort everywhere that the park looks nice & clean all day. Needless to say there are attractions for the whole family, from thrilling roller coasters, Virtual rides to calm story rides, shows, etc. Food & Drinks are expensive, comparable to other parks, but it’s very fair that it’s allowed to bring as much as you want by yourself. Entrance fees are fair and you‘ll get a lot entertainment for your money.

Da Dude — Google review

Absolutely amazing places to have fun for young and old. Very good organization of everything, parking, attraction, events and places to eat. Beautiful and pleasant atmosphere even just for a walk.

hristo topov — Google review

Very nice amusem*nt park, all of the rides were fun, short lines and excellent various food choices from all over the world. The dessert waffles were absolutely mouth watering! They were near the back of the park. Clean and safe environment. Highly recommend with or without kids! We came during October and it was a gorgeous, beautiful day out.

Amy Kory — Google review

Very impressive amusem*nt park. Read the description to discover the themes, it explains a lot.Main thing I have noticed is that every one can enjoy the park because of the diversity of amusem*nts.Clean, large choice of food, quality and thrilling attractions, this place is a must.My favorite amusem*nt is «Arthur» : beautiful fairy bubble with a detailed decoration: the roller which starts inside the bubble, above people doing other attractions, is completely gobsmacking…

Jerome G — Google review

A great theme park, the attractions are more family oriented. For adrenaline, I would recommend Energylandia in Poland. However, the park had beautiful Halloween decorations. The park has perfect shows.

Denisa Šindelářová — Google review

What an amazing place and an amazing experience.Everything is meticulously maintained, there is a huge diversity of different rides, the whole park is themed and decorated for Halloween, and the atmosphere is so pleasant.I loved how they divided the park into different countries. Everything is so easy to find.Prices of the food and beverages are decent in most places.I especially loved how they added Single Rider lines in many of the rides. Also, they do it very efficiently, so you don't have to wait for too long even if you're in a group and prefer to save some time and split on the ride. This is my second visit. I visited 7 years ago. A lot has changed for the better, even though the park was great even back then. They definitely know how to keep improving. The only thing I would suggest them to fix is the app's possibility to return to the list of rides after selecting a specific ride and pressing "return". Currently, it takes you back to the general map, and then you have to again select and filter the rides you want to see.

There’s never a bad time to go to Europa-Park!!! Last time we went during the spring, but now we went during Christmas time! The park is decorated beautifully and it’s just so magical ✨Very affordable place for a day of fun! The park hours are listed closing at an early hour, but they were open a lot past the listed closing time.Dogs are allowed and that is awesome!

Tela Royston — Google review

We first visited Europa Park back in 1990 before we had our children. We have visited it regularly since with our children. We have seen the park grow and really enjoy our visits. We have stayed on the campsite in one of their tepees as well as in nearby hotels and campsites.Access to the park is easy as it is well signposted. Once inside, there is plenty to see and do with lots for adults and children of all ages, and their are rides for all ages. There are shows to see, including medieval knights. The food isn't cheap but there are plenty of quiet areas to enjoy your own food or picnic. The car park is well laid out, and again is well signposted and marked. The best part about Europa Park is the atmosphere, especially on a bright summer's day. Queue times vary of course depending on what time of year and what day of the week you go, but they're not too bad. The bigger and more popular the ride the longer the queue, and there are plenty of rides and the wait is worth it.Level 9 Google reviewer with over 900 reviews, 75,000 points plus over 10,000 photos and still going strong 💪. Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

Tim Griffiths — Google review

Fantastic place for kids and peoples still having peter pan syndrome. Going there every 2 years and always a pleasure, during Christmas is just magical. Queue length is optimized by the park management, attractions are one of the best in the world.

Guillaume — Google review

Wonderful place.I'd love to see some more variety in the food stalls besides the all time classics: currywurst, churros, waffles, burgers etc.But other than that everything was beautiful. Many rides for small children to older ones. They also have places for the parents to sit while their kids play, in the area where the playgrounds are. There are also little houses or spots where you can just sit in peace for lunch and enjoy the view. You need at least 4 days to manage to see everything if you go with kids. The europa park app is a must if you want to check the waiting lines for the rides, the park map etc.Don't miss the all you can eat ribs in the silver lake saloon and the all you can eat buffet in Antica Roma! Both need reseevations!

Spookie — Google review

What a fantastic place to visit! Disneyland in Paris doesn’t get a look in with this place. If you want thrills and theming that really makes a difference. The park was super clean, staff extremely friendly and the efficiency of the queues was excellent. If a ride was getting a bit too busy they would add extra cars on to ease that. The virtual queue system was excellent and the shows were fantastic! Stopped at the Kronosar hotel and again what a fantastic place, rooms were spacious and everything was kept so clean and tidy. I’ll definitely return, only spent 2 nights but could have spent longer as there is so much to see and do.

Daniel Lyons — Google review

A place for theme park goers, a lovely date, want to experience different countries in a short space n time , take kids out.New rides, five nights at freddys-esque rides with puppets, toddler rides. Water rides...Highly recommended in warm to slightly hotter weather. The versatility of this place is great.Download the app. No ifs, no buts.Solo riders lane was a nice experienceOnly "downside" is how to get there, but its logical for it to be away from city and in a spacious plot.Make sure you factor in travel time especially if driving. Coaches and buses depending may be better.or nice stroll

Forest walk with guides through a reservation home to around 200 free-roaming barbary macaques.

An enjoyable 90 minutes spent wandering through the forest at the Montagne des Singes. The monkeys all looked well cared for and they seemed to be as curious about us as we were about them!A perfect place for families or budding photographers - the monkeys were great subjects for photos as they loved to pose! The park has a large car park, snack bar and lots of picnic tables (set away from the monkeys).

I dident expect the place was like this, the apes enjoy this park is a big open forest were the apes sleep live and interact with humans in their own terms, is not allow to harrase the animals and is a fascinating experience be a silent spectator.Very fine experience in a very nice place.

Maximo Alfonso — Google review

Great open-zoo for Monkeys! There are over 240 monkeys in the park and you can get up to 1 meter close to them. The staff is kind and answered all our questions. You can spend one hour or more looking at the funny animals doing their everyday activities.

We’ve had a super time at this monkey park. The kids absolutely enjoyed watching the animals closely. The park is not too big and also with a buggy easily accessible. It was super busy on a holiday.

Chrissi H — Google review

We enjoyed our visit- lots of monkeys - big monkeys, baby monkeys, monkeys sitting on the trees. The children had fun watching them. There are 2 playgrounds for the children of all ages and even a watching deck for the bird watchers. I highly recommend this place.

Yu Kho — Google review

a wonderful park, full of macaques walking in the freedom among people. You can find a buoy of monkeys or a very lovingly hugging family with a small monkey. Idea and the way to make the park.Big parking and restaurant.Perfect place.

Marcin Biechowski — Google review

Great park with enough space for the monkeys. Having been there for the 3rd time we probably didn't spend as much time there as others would. We spent around 2 hours including a cool drink/ice at the kiosk afterwards. The only negative thing to say is that during feeding the only spoken language is french (though it is possible to ask questions in English or German after). However, when you have a child along who not yet speak more than one language it is (for the child) a quite boring experience to just stand there and listen for 10-15 minutes to something which you do not understand.

Esben Rasmussen — Google review

Monkey Mountain was great! My 8 and 11 year olds enjoyed walking through the monkey area. We saw a few baby monkeys that were the most adorable things ever! The staff walking around was super kind and told us all about the monkeys. After we left the monkeys we spent some time at the playground. There is a fantastic "monkey" play area where the kids can climb through an elevated sort of ropes course and then other activities to simulate being a monkey.

Alisha Bell — Google review

Love this place with the monkeys running wild and living their life in a perfectly designed place. The proximity of the monkeys, the entertainment and learning along the way, the beauty of the nature and the peace in this place are unmatched. An activity to enjoy for half a day, if not longer!

Absolutely loved La Montagne des Singes! The park is stunning and it’s super fun for young and old (there’s lots to learn, the personell is very friendly, there’s a playground, and there’s even a really cool climbing park up in the trees for anyone over 120cm). It’s an amazing experience for a really fair price, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone 🐒

We were very lucky to reach the park during the feeding time 🕗. We saw the monkeys 🐒 being fed and listened the caretakers explaining about the species, the family, their habitat. The caretaker answered to our additional questions in english. A very pleasant visit and very nice personnel 🥰❤️. Thank you!!!

Roxana to you — Google review

A very nice place..I was expecting more monkeys to see and unfortunately there weren't many..They said that we would eat the monkeys... It turned out that they only feed them..The big problem is that things are told about the monkeys and not in English.. Or at least someone will translate from French... or a machine that will translate.. Unfortunately we didn't really enjoy it..

Mohamed A.Elgani — Google review

Very nice place. To see the monkeys in their natural habitat, so close to you is fantastic! I recomend to go there at the feeding time, if possible, because the caretaker will explain many interesting facts. The personal of this natural park is very kind and friendly.

Hiking area

Waterfalls

One of Germany's highest waterfalls, accessed by hiking trail, plus shop & café at the bottom.

We visited in October and it was a breathtaking walk. My children loved the playground before and after we took the shortest trek up to the falls. There are restrooms at the entrance. We would love to visit again.

Kim Dobson — Google review

I highly recommend going now during the fall when the leaves are changing colors. It is absolutely stunning. There are three parking areas, two small ones at the top and the middle…with the largest at the bottom. If you want a good hike up to get the blood flowing, park at the bottom. Parking is inexpensive. Bring coins.

D luvs2travel — Google review

This waterfall I found pretty nice and not too stressful to navigate. There’s a ticket to be purchased before or at the entrance , I like that there’s various angles to view the fall and also that they have provided Benches and rest areas for people who need to take a break from all the climbing and walking. It is located in a beautiful town and is a must visit ! Loved it

Lawal Dele — Google review

I have been here a couple of times and really enjoy this beautiful town in black forest. The waterfall itself is the main attraction in the town. It's definitely worth the visit once but, the charm of the town is something else. A bus goes from Triberg station to the market area from where, you need to walk around 200 meters to reach the entrance. Check the DB app for transport information as Google maps doesn't show the bus information (at least this was the case for me, every time I visited).

arkajyoti bhattacharyya — Google review

This place is good to spend your evening with or without family. Its not that tough hike. There are two ways if you wish to complete the hike, one is simple way they have made who is not in mood to go breathless and other one is steep where you can shred some fats. But both the ways are not tough at all. It is worth to see this waterfall not only in summer but in winter. Since we were students we got the ticket in 7.5 € per person otherwise it is 8€ for adult. There are benches at all the level and bridge where you can stop by and relax and enjoy the view. Inside there are no counters to buy food but you can bring ur drink n food if you wish. Outside of waterfall you have lot many restaurants where you can enjoy. Its kinda tourist place so you will find international people as well. Overall it's good place to visit once at least to chill and relax.

Meera Upadhyay — Google review

Beautiful waterfalls! Many places to click amazing photos! The roads are big enough to walk, and you can hike alongside the majestic waterfalls! The view of the city is awesome as well! A lot you can hike up, and even though it was crowded, we had enough space to walk! Recommended!

Anusha Gandhi — Google review

After a long trek it's very pleasant feeling to see waterfalls, here there are several ways to trek, we can go up or down and vice versa and also different routes for going up for path finders. We have to take a ticket at the entry anyway. We will get a nice view if we see it from very bottom.

Hari Charan Bolisetty — Google review

Pretty outstanding. Very accessible on paved walking paths, is it a little pricey at 7 Euros per person for access to a short hike up the trail, yes, but you are here for the experience not the low cost.

Eric Degen — Google review

A lovely place to go in summer as the water spray is cooling. At first the climb is relatively steep, but after that it winds gently through the woods. There are apparently red squirrels although I saw none, and I paddled in the higher pools in the ice cold water, which is also very welcome in the summer heat. Triberg itself is pretty, scenic and worth seeing.

Philippa L — Google review

Great day out. Entry fee of €6 I think, cash only, ATM on site but it charges €3. Need to wear hard hats, plenty of antibac wipes if needed. Route is well designed, you don't need the strongest of calf muscles but there are a lot of steps. There is a round route walk you can take once at the top of the waterfall route taking you through a forest (a long steep incline), then open countryside to a chapel, and finally down a woodland path. Route takes about 3 and half hours at a steady pace (I'm not a fast walker). The chapel has fresh running water to drink outside.

Colin Hall — Google review

Due to winter season we were only able to do partial way that coated about 6/7 euro each.. we went in like 10min hiking for someone short,, for tall and those who hike that was about 5-7min walk.. still the waterfall was really nice and was not disappointed.. definitely would be more worth it in the summer..

shupty nahar — Google review

My second time here. And it's just as stunning as I remember it. And made even better by the presence of the quaint little cafe at the bottom right on the river, with good food, fair prices. If walking, hills, mountains and waterfalls are your thing, ADD THIS to your bucket list.

Ron ?RonBSM? Jones — Google review

Nice climb with children. Not very impressive but still a cool piece of nature to watch! Also, had fun feeding the squirrels in the woods.Although we expected more from the nightly light effects..

Jourik Feenstra — Google review

Beautiful waterfall with a well laid out series of paths to walk the height of the falls, taking in various views of the fast flowing water. Fairly tame red squirrel in abundance alongside other fauna.Beware whilst these are good quality pavement-like paths they are, by necessity, very, very steep in parts!

Antony Nelson — Google review

This waterfall I found pretty nice and for that they charge €8. And we need to purchase this ticket from the entrance. The walking path, benches everything is beautifully maintained and absolutely amazing.

Naveen Nandakumar — Google review

Gorgeous place. The green moss surrounding the waterfall makes me think at prehistoric times. I expect dinosaurs to pop out from behind the trees. The waterfall is not busy at all in winter but you might not be able to go all the way up due to ice and snow. The entrance is only 6 euro and it includes the Black Forest museum and the Triberg Fantasy.

Adriana Y — Google review

The Triberg Waterfalls in Germany's Black Forest are a captivating natural spectacle, cascading over seven tiers and dropping a total of 163 meters. The rush of water, surrounded by lush greenery, creates an immersive experience for visitors.Trails winding through the forest provide various viewpoints, offering different perspectives of the falls. The sound of the roaring water and the mist in the air add to the enchantment of the surroundings.Accessible to all, these falls offer a serene escape and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of nature. Whether seeking adventure or tranquility, the Triberg Waterfalls provide an awe-inspiring encounter with one of Germany's natural treasures.

Ivo — Google review

The landscape of this area which is on the hill it’s absolutely fantastic. I receive very good energy from here, I also mouved up and down. For visiting the entire place which I hardly recommended.

Robert-Ionuț Stoicescu — Google review

I am so glad we went. If you park at the parking garage in town, the waterfalls are only a short walk up the hill. There is an entrance fee (about 8€ for grown ups) but it also includes the entrance fee to the Black Forest Museum and entrance to Triberg Fantasy. Make sure to hang on to the receipt! There are two ways to see the falls. One easy way and one strenuous. We are both middle-aged, out of shape people, and we did the strenuous walk, no problem. There is so much to see that you will catch enough breaks. There are also different levels you can walk. Several bridges crossing the falls, giving you the chance to end your walk and walk back to the entrance. It is beautiful, and the shade is great in the summer heat.

Silke H. — Google review

Absolutely beautiful! It was raining so hard but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the scenery. We came here during winter time so the weather wasn’t really that cheerful. It was wet all over the place but isn’t that slippery.Around the area there’s many restaurants where you can eat and drink. Souvenir stores is just in every corner!

Vieille Ville, also known as the Old Town of Colmar, is a picturesque and charming area that feels like something out of a fairy tale. The streets are lined with colorful half-timbered houses, creating a storybook-like atmosphere. Visitors can wander through narrow cobblestone streets and explore local cafes, bakeries, and shops offering crafts. St. Martin's Church stands as an impressive architectural marvel in this historic district.

Enjoy your holidays in this fairly tale town, Colmar and have a walking day surrounded by Alsatian houses, the half-timbered houses. The alley of colorful houses makes this place charming for tourists around the world. You can enjoy the scenic views, take photos, have lunch and/or dinner here.

Vieille Ville in Colmar is like stepping into a fairy tale. This old town is full of colorful half-timbered houses that look straight out of a storybook. As you stroll the narrow cobblestone streets, you'll find cafes, bakeries, and shops with local crafts. Don't miss visiting the impressive St. Martin's Church with its stunning architecture. It's a must-visit for anyone who loves the charm and history of old European towns

Very beautiful oldtown. On christmas the whole town is nicely decorated

Colmar is definitely our favourite town in Alsace after 5 days of visit. A must do together with Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Eguisheim, Ribeauvillé and indeed the splendid castle of Haut-Koeningsbourg. The whole of Colmar is a magical place! The whole city is a Christmas market and even with the cold it is difficult to keep the hands in the pocket as you would want to take pictures of everything! This city is full of beautiful houses for their shapes, colours, decorations, and everyone is incredibly friendly in Alsace ! The city has many nice shops and amazing restaurants to enjoy including a 2 Michelin star restaurant. We've got to visit the city if you come to Alsace.

Philippe Lemarchand — Google review

In my opinion the best spot of Alsace region in France. We compare the river view as Venise. The colorful houses with old design and typical architecture will definetely touch your feeling. They are offering a large choice of beer and traditional food as the very iconic choucroute dish but as well Baeckeoffe, Spätzles, Bretzel and the very tasty Flammekueche (onions, bacon ham, cream and gruyere cheese).

Cyril BECKER — Google review

Colmar is a really popular and busy spot. But one can see why that is. It is an unbelievably pretty town, with a very walkable and accessable town center. The old town is pretty compact and could be visited in one day. But make sure to give it a few days if possible. There are endless sights, architectual masterpieces on every corner with the typical buildings, lots of wonderful shops and endless dining options. There's the impressive Collégiale St-Martin, the Église des Dominicains, the Église Saint-Matthieu, the Grand Rue, the Place du Marché Aux Fleurs, the Fontaine Schwendi, the Parc du Champ de Mars, Maison des Têtes, the Place du 2 Février, the Parc Montagne verte, the wonderful Marché couvert and of course Petite Venise. And that's just to name a few sights. It's nice to just wander around and to get lost in the various lanes and streets of colmar. Nice butcher shops with local goodies, lots of delicous bakeries and of course the restaurants. Sauerkraut and Flammkuchen are local specialties of course. But there's a lot more than that. We very much enjoyed "Les Racines" (a bit hidden away) and "Le Fer Rouge" (right in the middle of the action). Good food, nice staff, high quality, fair prices. We found out that most restaurants are dog-friendly. Inside and out, as in most of France.Even though quite a busy town packed with visitors it's one of the most beautiful spots in France (city-wise). Definitely worth a visit for a couple of days. We'll be back again in a few weeks.

Alex Haas — Google review

Colmar a charming old village where you can feel history, wineries, old houses and nice architecture.I recommend you to visit the Alsace, la Route de Vins including Colmar.

Wadad Lahad — Google review

Lovely old town, visible in one day. Imposing german architecture in the center of the old town, in contrast with the more french ones from outside of the city.

Holiday apartment

Neighborhoods

This holiday apartment in the charming town of Little Venice is perfect for visitors looking for a bit of relaxation and beauty. The area is well-known for its historic houses, fairy tale vibe, and meandering Lauch River. The apartment has been decorated in an elegant style with all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable. The town itself is also very charming and offers plenty of activities to enjoy, such as exploring its colorful half-timbered houses or taking a boat ride on the river.

(Translated by Google)I used it with my family of 4. Nice view along the river, quiet and romantic place at night. The building itself is very old, but the inside has been beautifully renovated, and the electrical appliances, utensils, and tableware around the kitchen were all there, and it was very clean!I parked my car in front of the hotel and moved to a nearby parking after carrying my luggage.I think the location is great as there are markets and restaurants nearby. The owner, Madam, spoke English, and although we arrived late at around 8:30 pm, she waited for us in front of the hotel after a phone call, and we were able to receive the keys. rice field.

A "Real Eyeopener"!This compact "old town" area of Southeast Colmar is a place "not to be missed" by visitors! It gets its name due to the "historic houses" built on both sides of the small, meandering, Lauch River.... and the "fairy tale vibe". The area is wonderful to walk around-- and has cobbled streets, colourful "half-timbered" houses, and a "covered market". It can also be seen by boat. It has been awarded by TripAdvisor the esteemed "Certificate of Excellence". It is indeed well worth a visit. It is no wonder that it has been rated as one of the "top of places" to visit/things to do, while in Colmar. It will definitely add to one's memories of the visit.I hope that this Review has been helpful.

Mark Doctoroff — Google review

Lovely time walking around Home Little Venice there's so much more than the picturesque bridge's to see with a few lovely restaurants along the canal, and little boat trip back and forth . It's only a short walk from here to the indoor market .My recommendations would be early evening when all the lights come on for beautiful pictures .

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Freiburg Cathedral is a beautiful, iconic Gothic cathedral located in the heart of Freiburg, Germany. The building dates back to 1200 and features stunning lacy spires, cheeky gargoyles, and intricate entrance portal. The cathedral is decorated with a large number of artistic details, making it an excellent place to enjoy the view. There are also restaurants and stores along the street.

Very detailed cathedral, I can watch it for hours and find more and more things. Surrounded by the small local market with flowers, fruits, sausages (highly recommend to try one, very tasty stuff!), wooden goods, etc. Don’t forget to see the cathedral inside. It worth it, trust me. Reminds me the famous Strasbourg cathedral, but a smaller version of it. One love ❤️

Nataliia Cheban — Google review

Oh man, where do I start? I love pipe organs and this cathedral has a huge pipe organ divided into three parts. If you visit the place, they to find the three pieces, it's awesome. I'd love to see it being played but I didn't have the chance yet. Beautiful place.

Kurt Bourscheid — Google review

Absolutely stunning cathedral in Freiburg. I absolutely love visiting places of worship as they bring such a feeling of calm and reverence. This cathedral welcomes all, to respect those worshipping. Beautiful stained glass windows and high ceilings! The Reliquary of Saint Lambertus (635-705), Bishop of Maastricht and patron saint of Freiburg gold statue is here for viewing, completed in 1514 by the goldsmith, and set up in 1779 on an older base from 1468.

K Elf — Google review

The Freiburg Munster was so magical and pure. Make sure to respect others and to maintain silence inside the Munster. Perfect place to be at peace and to enjoy the architecture as well. Can light up candles for 0.70cents and buy candles to take home for 3 euros.

Exploregram — Google review

This Münster offers mesmerizing views from the top. One of the famous and beautiful tower in Germany. It has a very attractive architecture and history. If you are in Freiburg, must visit this place. You can buy the tickets inside the cathedral. You can easily reach from the Hauptbahnhof by walk.

Kaveri Mirji — Google review

Very cool cathedral in Freiburg that is rich in history. We visited quickly while attending the Christmas market outside. I would enjoy a return visit to learn more about the history of this church that is still standing after so many years.

IndyKevin317 — Google review

Very Beautiful Cathedral in the town of Freiburg im Breisgau. This town is at the edge of the famous Black Forest area. There are lot of hotels to stay very close to the Freiburger Munster, in and around the square. When we stayed for a night, the square around the Munster was occupied by a wonderful Christmas market, where you could get excellent food (including vegan options), and nice artisanal items. This place is also close to the Swiss border from Basel.

Ritesh Sharan — Google review

This church is worth a visit. They do hold masses in German which was a challenge but it gave me an opportunity to see it as it was meant to be seen. We were told it was only structure spared during the war. Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

Aleida lozano-netzel — Google review

I have visited quite a number of cathedrals in Southern Germany, and Freiburger Münster showcases the most beautiful set of stained glass windows. Absolutely breathtaking! The steeple height is surely imposing, standing high and mighty above the beautiful city of Freiburg im Breisgau.

Gabby Mariano — Google review

Freiburg Cathedral, since 1200s. Some interesting facts about this masterpiece. It’s actual foundation is based on a church started in 1120s, in line with that in 2020, Freiburg celebrated in 900 years Anniversary. Only Gothic church in Germany dating back to Middle Ages, which survived wars and still smiling.Out of 16 bells, the oldest dating back to 1258, oldest Angelus bell in Germany. It took 300+ years to realize this dream. The church is surrounded with market on weekdays, called as Münster market which brings local produce for sale. This tradition has been here since Freiburg wrote its name in history. So, a visit to the market is a different vibe. Can you go the church tower. Of course. 300+ steps will take you to the top of church tower base, where you can enjoy panoramic view of Blackforest and the city. Best time is Autumn during sunset. Check closing time before the visit. The church tower Entrance ( Münsterturm) is outside the church on left side.Wish you beautiful day.

THE SNAPWALK — Google review

So many choices as you explore. You can go up, you can go down, either way you get to enjoy a beautiful piece of history well preserved. After all the exploring, the fountain out in the square in front of the main entrance is designed to fill your water up.

Angel L — Google review

Lovely cathedral with amazing architecture right at the heart of Freiburg. Entry is free. We loved visiting it from the inside and walking along its perimeter to admire the different gargoyles. Must visit when in Freiburg.

Padmini M S — Google review

A must visit place if you are in Freiburg. It's a nice slice of history, architecture and it's right in the market place. It is a pretty big cathedral and very quiet inside that gave us the opportunity to spend some time for a quiet prayer. The columns inside and the height of the ceiling is a reminder of all the great architecture done in the times before us.The stained glass windows are a view to take in and enjoy the art work and story. The market around the cathedral offers plenty to eat, drink and shop. We tried the hot cider and would definitely recommend it. The vegan/tofu option was not fitting my taste but it was ok.

Pradeep Ponnuswamy — Google review

A guys derrier is, hanging off the side of the church, facing Rathaus out of an age - old protest , about slow payment to the Sculptor. That is History from it's best, love the rich history of the Black Forest!!

Heike Woodward — Google review

One of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Germany.Do visit the "Turm"/church towers during the opening hours. There is an entrance to the church tower from the right side of the church. The entry fee is 5€.

Vivek Padayattil — Google review

Amazing place with great views from up stairs how ever we had to climb a lot of stairs that were a bit narrow and they were getting narrower as you ascended more. There are some Bella on the top that are very old and kind of interesting.

Alex Gkiolias — Google review

Great cathedral for art lovers, the last work of Hans Holbein the younger can be seen here in the Universittate chapel (2 eur entrance). Other works are great too, unfortunately i did not find the info about the painters… anyway it is worth to enjoy!

Natalya Gayvoronska — Google review

A spectacular cathedral, right in downtown and surrounded by some beautiful old buildings. The entrance is free, and the environment inside is darkish and quiet. The glass windows are beautiful, and the shafts of light coming in are amazing. The ceiling has lovely textures, so do look up. It is nice to take a moment to sit and take in the calm. It is also lovely to walk around on the outside and notice the stone carvings.

beautiful town in the middle of black forest. this is a better town to go to instead of Baden Baden/triberg, where it's much further from black forest. it will also be more convenient if you drive, as you can drive through certain parts of black forest easily, as compared to walking/hiking

The Titisee is a lake in the southern Black Forest in Germany. It is a captivating lake town that offers visitors a unique blend of natural beauty, historical charm. Very nice view.

Kokthye Lim — Google review

Titisee is a Great Place to stay for us. Regardless if you life hear or as a tourist. The nature is great. Sometimes it’s quit busy but that comes and goes. It’s great to go running next to the lake or through the forest early in the morning when the sun comes out and the fog is still hanging over the water.

Very quaint town in the Black forest region of Germany! Please get a cuckoo clock if you can, and do try the Black forest cake at one of the cafe’s at the entrance of Lake Titisee.

Visited during the winter off-peak season, so most of the stores were closed. But the views were still absolutely stunning! Everything was covered with a layer of snow, adding a touch of magic to the landscape.

One of the best lakes I have ever seen. The atmosphere is magical,I really recommend to go out of the town and follow a trail so that you can see the whole lake. Is all flat and really panoramic. It’s just half an hour by train from Freiburg so that’s really close and you can’t miss out the place is absolutely stunning. The trees are so high and the light is amazing. There is space to sit at the sides of the banks and grass fields are all over. In summer the landscape is so green,it’s wonderful ! There are also some camping places.

Specialty Museums

The Musée National de l'Automobile - Collection Schlumpf is the largest automobile collection in the world, located in Mulhouse. This grand museum showcases over 450 classic European cars, including 120 Bugattis, all tracing the history of automobiles back to their early days. The exhibition features 400 vintage, prestigious, and racing cars that will fascinate car enthusiasts as well as those with a general interest in automotive history.

Really impressive collection of cars from the beginning of the car history. If you are a fan of old cars especially Bugatti then this Museum is a must visit. They also have a small track where you can drive some classics for a fee.

Bogdan-Mircea Bodnarescu — Google review

Fantastic place! Watching it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. In a huge hall, hundreds of cars in beautiful condition. From the beginning of driving, you can find a lot of models here, looking at some of them, a frame from a movie comes to mind. We'll come back again, because it's a full-day program if someone wants to watch it more thoroughly.

Krisztina F?ldi-Czeczei — Google review

Absolutely amazing visit! The displays are superb, and I can highly recommend spending a lot time here. Sadly I was under time pressure, so rushed through parts. But will be back.I didn't get her name, but the young blonde lady at the ticket desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. A great start to the visit

Ray Chaplin — Google review

The Musée National de l'Automobile in Mulhouse is a must-visit for car enthusiasts! The collection boasts an impressive array of vintage and modern vehicles, beautifully curated and well-maintained. From classic cars to iconic models, the museum offers a fascinating journey through automotive history. The interactive exhibits and informative displays provide insight into the evolution of automobiles. The museum's layout is well-designed, making it easy to navigate and enjoy at your own pace. Overall, a fantastic experience for anyone with an interest in cars! Highly recommended

Mahmoud Mandou — Google review

A car collection like none other. It's a step back in time - and yet has one of the greatest new cars ever made on display. The classic/supercar driving at the end is a brilliant addition, too!

David Campbell — Google review

Despite not being a car enthusiast in any way, I absolutely loved this museum. There are vehicles spanning from carriages to formula 1, as well as lots of Bugattis. I would have liked to read more info about the vehicles, they only have a sort description. And more information about the founders of the collection would have been useful. I read up about them after my visit but their story could have been presented better in the museum. You can easily spend hours going round here.

Chloe Smith — Google review

This is an impressive collection of cars. There are a few fun hands-on activities as well plus a roll over simulator. There is a collection of children's pedal cars as well, which my children enjoyed. I am not a car fan by any means, but I enjoyed the museum.

Rina Scates — Google review

Jaw dropping. The sheer number and range of vehicles is amazing. Quite a privilege to see the early models, and with good descriptions. But also the other categories, through the decades, as well as top end models and racing cars.

Cotswold Graham — Google review

I don't visit museums that often, but this one is worthy of all the admiration. Great exposition, excellent descriptions for each car and really collected a huge number of exhibitsI will say right away - that allocate 2,5-3 hours to visit.I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of a restaurant on the territory and a cool event after the end (the event is held on the territory of the museum every Sunday).

Katherine Potupalo — Google review

Absolutely stunning collection of mainly Pre War Classics with an outstanding number of Bugatti Cars, but also some other classics can be seen. The space is arranged very well with no unnecessary stuff , we enjoyed the walk through the building. The only downside is the missing ability to get something to eat in the afternoon, a small bistro menu with fries, Cake, Crepe or Baguette would be a great addition.

Jochen Sch — Google review

Amazing French automobile history in live... worth of seeing definitely... I know route de vin is quite attractive to being in there however if you are in Alsace, just few hours smell this amazing historical show for cars..

The Musée National de l'Automobile in Mulhouse is well worth a visit for every car enthusiast. So many beautiful examples of automobiles from the very beginning of car manufacturing until the late 1970ies. Maybe the biggest collection of Bugatti in the world. Amazing! We were lucky and there were not too many people there so it was perfect to take pictures. I would like to go again. Or go to an event where the old racecards are really driven. Extraordinary!

Florian Dyck — Google review

Very nice exhibition. They have hundreds of car maybe more but you can't sit or touch. For children there is a car race for their fun in the middle. For extra you can drive a each car for additional charge. Overall nice place to visit.

Shiri Herzberg — Google review

Huge museum but seems stuck in time pre 1980. Some important early cars in here especially Bugatti and others and interestingly includes a modern day Veyron. Vast majority of the collection is very old and either early cars or from 1930s, 40s and 50s when obviously the collection was being assembled. Some really interesting cars too from micro to pedal cars, clangers like the Aston Martin Lagonda, Ferrari 512 and some fun hands-on things for kids. Very cold inside the day we visited and could have been heated. Parking outside is 2euro an hour.

David Brown — Google review

I’ve been to lots of automotive museums around Europe but this one has been my favourite up to now, if you like cars the history and development of you’ll have a good day here. I particularly liked the easy layout of the museum which means you won’t miss a thing

17chameleon — Google review

With one word - it is an extraordinary museum! If you are a car enthusiastic, or someone who is into mechanical designs and engines, you should definitely see this place. The open gallery is very well prepared for a great exhibition according to years with brief, but attention taking descriptions and stories. The collection is one of a kind with very unique and rare cars. And the idea of "Car lost in the Nature" is truly beautiful. We paid €18.00 for an adult ticket without waiting in the line on a Friday afternoon.

Özge Abanoz — Google review

The collection is downright fantastic. It's incredible to see that many old cars, all the way to the 1890s, all in perfect operating condition. Fun activities as well (packing a boot to the brim, manually starting an old car...).Beware of the cold, however, if you visit in winter. The exhibition hall has no heating at all anymore (due to electricity prices). I visited on a freezing day and while it was above zero indoors it wasn't a lot higher! The bar also isn't particularly remarkable and has a tendency to close early (4:30 is too late already). All in all, pick a sunny day, go early enough, and you'll have a blast!

Antonin Carré — Google review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐My visit to the Mulhouse Automobile Museum was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, the friendly staff members Charlotte and Lauris made us feel welcome. The museum itself is a treasure trove, boasting hundreds of classic vehicles and racing cars. Each exhibit is a masterpiece, but the Bugattis stole the show, giving me goosebumps! Spending the morning with Olly, reminiscing about his childhood and cars, was a highlight. I highly recommend a visit, but don't forget to wear warm clothes, as it can get chilly in March. Be prepared to do a lot of walking, as the place is huge. Overall, a fantastic experience that I'll cherish forever!

Not much of a car enthusiast, but this museum is spectacular. You don’t have to be knowledgeable or even all that interested in cars to thoroughly enjoy yourself here. The way that the history and progression of automobiles are displayed is quite captivating and we ended up spending 2-3 hours here.

Brisippus — Google review

Really nice experience for people who loves carsI forgot to make a mention for the guy at the bar counter inside the museum. I never saw a guy so crazy like him. You can talk to him and he still doing his job, don't answer to you, give you his shoulders and don't care what you ask to him. I asked for a plastic bottle of water, I showed him a translation in French and he stills no answers and doing his own!!! Very very very rude!! I think it will be good to change your staff

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

Basel Minster is a famous Protestant Gothic style church with twin spires and a tiled roof built in the 9th century. It is located on Munsterhugel, the highest point in Basel, and is easily spotted by its prominent spires and brightly patterned roof tiles.

One of the most iconic landmark in Basel that you have to see. If you are brave enough to climb to the top of the tower, you will be rewarded by the breathtaking view of the city across the Rhine. And if you look further, you can even see across the French and German country border. Even if you don't have the strength to climb atop of it's tower, the cathedral has an ornate interior as well as a monastery with courtyard right next to the cathedral.

One of the most beautiful churches i have ever seen. Loved the painted glass and the columns, the ceiling and arches. The entrance is free but if you want to go up to the tower you have to pay 6 CHF. And you will want to go to one of the towers, because the view to the river and the city is breathtaking. I never miss this part anywhere, and now i wasn't dissapointed. You will not regret it.

Gabi Sarbu — Google review

Hey, the tower is an absolute must-visit! The views are absolutely jaw-dropping, giving you the perfect overview of the city. Plus, the ticket prices are a steal compared to other towers in Europe. But hey, here's a tip: don't tackle the climb solo. Some parts of the tower can get pretty spooky with darkness, and those stairs? They're high and narrow, like something out of a medieval adventure! So grab a buddy you trust and make a day of it. Exploring the tower will easily fill up an hour of your time, but remember, it shuts down at 4 pm sharp. So get there early to soak in all the views and enjoy the breeze!

Quiet place full of history. The big walls from brick keep secrets of the centuries. Big yard with monuments to the victims of past tragedies. U can walk around and feel how deep and high is this monster of faith that'll stand here for decades more.

Nice and peaceful cathedral. What caught my attention was the amazingly colorful and vibrant stained glass windows. Cathedral itself is big. I would suggest to take a walk around and outdoors as well. At backside relaxing views of rhine and bridges on either side.

A very large square surrounded by extremely beautiful and ancient houses. The church in the square is huge and very beautiful. The view of the city is unique. A must see place if you are in town.

Beautiful cathedral. We went in the day for a tour and returned in the evening for an accomplished organ recital. There is a concert schedule and I highly recommend checking to see if you can catch a performance when visiting the city.

Richard Belcher — Google review

Fascinating gothic style cathedral dating back to the 9th century with rich religious and political history. The view of the city of Basel along the river Rhine is stunning from the top viewing platform. I recommend taking a guided walking tour of Basel like us which covered almost all the attractions including the cathedral with interesting history of the city.

Loved their NYE service. Wholesome and emotional. Some people were unfriendly, but that is not the Minster’s fault, it however left a stain on the experience. The building was impressive nonetheless, and extremely clean especially for how packed it was. Really beautiful place, definitely worth seeing.

Free entry, very peaceful. Worth a visit to look around

One of the most beautiful and interesting historical places to see in central Europe. Please go to the crypt and wait for the show, it's amazing! The show is played in 3 languages: English, German and French, each at different time. You'll see information about it before the entrance to the crypt.

Eva Popławska — Google review

Basel Minster is a free to enter church located at the heart of the city. It's also the location of the Basel Autumn festival and Christmas markets. It's a stunning Gothic cathedral, stands as an architectural marvel. You can buy tickets to go up the cathedral's tower to experience panoramic views of Basel and the Rhine River. Its timeless beauty and cultural significance make it a jewel in Switzerland's heritage and a true testament to Gothic architecture's grandeur.

Sanka Illangakoon — Google review

So beautiful, big and well maintained. You can freely walk all around inside the church. Don't miss to go up on the towers, it's a very great experience. It costs only 6chf. It has a stunning view of the City of Basel.

We used the bus get here from Messeplatz, and I have to say, please WALK to the church...it's an absolutely wonderful experience that I will recommend to anyone. there is also a free to use WC service just opposite the church. 9/10 recommend ‼️

Not crowded and nice place to understand a bit of history while in Basel. Large cathedral with wonderful shades of light and dark. I'd love to hear what the acoustics are like when they play the pipe organ.

Jonathan Y. Lee — Google review

Beautiful cathedral. It was closed when I got there, I was hoping to attend the evening prayer session, as I saw on the website. It didn’t happen maybe because of an outdoor cinema event. At the back of the cathedral you can see the nice view of Basel and Rhine River

Judy Hung — Google review

This is a Gothic building located on a hillside beside the Rhine River. The church has a platform from which you can overlook the city scenery on the other side of the Rhine.

A beautiful cathedral in the middle of Old Town Square. The interior is so elegant and simple, and the place definitely has a soul that touches your heart. It is closed after 16.00, so, pay a visit just before the evening.

So nice!!!! It's historical and elegant! I experienced a midday prayer at this location today, it came with very traditional ceremony with some music and singings, super nice experience! And the sight of the river is very stunning too!

Basel Monastery is located in Basel, Switzerland and is one of the city's major tourist attractions. The monastery is on the Swiss national heritage list. The monastery, which was originally built for the Catholic Church, was transferred to the Protestant Church after the Reformation. The building, which was influenced by Romanex architecture and Gothic architecture between 1019 and 1500, was destroyed in the 1356 Basel Earthquake and was rebuilt by Johannes Gmünd, the architect of the Freiburg Monastery, and completed by Ulrich Ensingen in 1421. The south tower was completed by Hans von Nußdorf in 1500.When you go to Basel, you should definitely see this place and the Palatinate (Palatinate) Viewing Platform next to it.

Bern Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its arcaded walkways, fountains, and Switzerland's tallest cathedral. This captivating area holds the lesser-known fact that Albert Einstein once resided here with his spouse in a third-floor apartment, which has now been transformed into a museum showcasing an authentic replica of the renowned physicist's home.

A single word is needed here: Lovely. One of the best towns in Switzerland, possibly in the central Europe. YOU DO WANNA VISIT BERN, trust me.

The capital of Switzerland, old town of Bern is big and pretty. I saw a clock tower for the first time and it was interesting to look at. There are trams running throughout the city. There are many beautiful fountains and lovely to look at.

The capital of Switzerland has a very atmospheric and cultural atmosphere. I want to feel the local tranquil atmosphere here. The ancient city is also very amazing. 👍It doesn’t feel like the capital. Walking here and enjoying the shopping experience It’s a good time in the morning. 👍The nearby scenery is also very impressive. There are also many scenic spots that you can go for a walk. It’s a very distinctive capital. It’s a pity that it was cloudy when I went to Bern that day, but I think I’ll save it for the next time I go to Bern. Come and enjoy this beautiful ancient city again if you have the opportunity!👍👍

Overall the city was beautiful. I went on a Monday and many shops are closed that day. The good news was, my guess, fewer people the bad news is there were some great shops that had displays that could not purchase. My guess is 50% of the shops or greater was closed. I truly enjoyed the shops that were open!

The Bern's Old Town is the No.1 Must See Place when you go to Bern. I admit that I had doubts before I came here but then, I fully understood why this old town had become a world's heritage! Its calmness, medieval buildings, streets, fountains, & the beautiful & elegant clock towers, have made this Old Town be possibly the most pretty Historic Town in Switzerland!Tips: It's easy to get here from the Bern's Station too, just look up & follow one of the clock towers.(Please note that the picture showed as the caption in Google's UNESCO Von Bern is actually the Zetgloge Clock Tower, which is an ancient landmark from the 13th century.)

Bern being the capital of Switzerland is an ancient city. Has many historical buildings and scenic lookouts. You have to stay within the city limits to enjoy the sites as they are accessible via light rail. Book a hotel near to the city centre and use the light rail and buses to get around. First time visitors get a free pass within the 2 city zones. Rent a car and travel to Zurich and Geneva to enjoy the alps and historic towns. Busy during the summer. The cost of food etc are very expensive here specially being the capital. Good only if you’re into scenery and historical buildings.

Bern's Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the historic center of the capital city of Switzerland. It is renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, charming cobblestone streets, and numerous historical landmarks. It is situated on a peninsula formed by a bend in the Aare River. The layout of the town has remained largely unchanged since the medieval period. The Old Town is known for its covered arcades (Lauben) which extend for miles and make Bern one of the longest covered shopping promenades in Europe.A walking tour is the best way to explore Bern's Old Town. You can take a guided tour to learn about the history and significance of various landmarks, or explore at your own pace. Be sure to visit the Zytglogge (Clock Tower), one of Bern's most famous landmarks, to watch the clock's elaborate mechanisms and figures in action as the hour changes. Don't miss the area's selection of chocolate shops. Explore the Swiss Federal Palace, home to the Swiss government, and take a guided tour to learn about the country's political system and history. Visit the Bear Park near the Old Town to see Bern's emblematic animals. Finally, take a stroll along the Aare River for beautiful views of the city and surrounding hills.Bern's Münster Cathedral is an iconic landmark with an impressive façade and beautiful stained glass windows. Climb the tower for panoramic views of the city. The Einstein Museum, located in the building where Albert Einstein lived while in Bern, offers insight into the famous physicist's life and work. Kramgasse is one of the main streets in the Old Town, lined with shops, cafes, and historic buildings. It leads to the Zytglogge and provides a lively atmosphere. The Old Town is also dotted with colorful and ornate fountains from the Renaissance period, each with its own unique design and history. The Rosengarten (Rose Garden) offers beautiful views of the Old Town and is a great spot to relax and take photos. The Old Town is best explored on foot, but there are also trams and buses available for easy transport.

The city of Bern is great to visit (as for most Swiss cities I would avoid going there on a Sunday as most shops are closed and some restaurants too). Bern has a beautiful old city center which is easy to get to from one of the many parking places around the center or (of course) by train. Really nice view from the Rosengarten and while you are there it’s nice to walk downstairs to the bridge to have a look at the bears at ‚Bärengraben‘. Beautiful City! Please leave a thumbs up/like if you think this review was useful.

A lovely little old town that we stopped by for just a day on our travels. We didnt get a chance to do anything but in about 4 hours we felt like we had seen everything that bern has to offer. Its worth it to atleast once walk up towards the rose garden to the east as you can then really see over all of bern. There are pretty streets, sculputers and building all over. Apparently the fountain water is also drinkable.

One of the best things to do in Switzerland. You can walk and buy things unique to Switzerland, but please check things that you are buying not from China. Because there are some shops which selling made in China things with made in Switzerland.

Chocolate factory

Tours

Maison Cailler is a chocolate-making facility located in Broc, Switzerland. They have been producing chocolate since 1825 and offer interactive tours that showcase the history of chocolate. Visitors can enjoy free samples while learning about the process of chocolate making. In addition to tours, Maison Cailler also offers workshops for children and adults which include a factory tour and must be reserved in advance. The facility is easily accessible by train with a 25-minute ride from Broc-Fabrique station.

What an amazing time I had here. My friends and I loved the tour, loved the scenery and learning all the history and we especially loved the sampling. The ultimate experience was buying all the chocolates 🍫 ❤️ we could fit in our carry-ons. The staff is do warm and friendly. This is a must-do when visiting Switzerland.

Visiting this Literal Chocolate Factory was an incredible experience and I definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to this part of the world. It was a very enlightening and memorable tour through time on the history of cocoa. I recommend bringing 3.5mm headphones to plug into the story teller thing. That way you’re not holding it up like a phone the entire time. But besides that everything was incredible and the chocolate was delicious!

Carlos Ariel Then (Mr. Then) — Google review

Interesting tour of a chocolate factory. It's really more of a show that you walk through. It tells the story of chocolate and of the company. It's a dramatisation with sound effects, sets, and special lighting. It was not crowded the day we went but they are well equipped to handle big crowds. There's a mini factory set up at the end of the show. There's also chocolate tasting at the end. A delicious way to end our tour.

Anisa Lowrey — Google review

We didn't go round the museum, instead we did a chocolate workshop which was amazing. The incredible multilingual chocolatier showed us how to make and decorate delicious bar and shaped chocolate of our choice then it was our turn. My bar and teddy bear efforts weren't as good as his but every bit as delicious! I would heartily recommend this experience to anyone young or old - it's great fun for all ages.

Tracey Hyder — Google review

This is a great stop to see in Switzerland! It is like entering the real world Charlie and the Chocolate Factory if it was filmed in the modern era. You go room to room exploring the history of chocolate and the development of the Cailler brand. You sample chocolate and flavors along the way. Absolutely a must see and must try place!

Kat J — Google review

Visited cailler chocolate factory during my visit to Switzerland. They have a walk through presentation on how chocolate is evolved & manufactured from the time. It's very good to go through their process. Had tasted all their chocolates samples after that. Chocolates are really good. Bought different chocolates at their factory outlet after the visit at good price. Liked the visit. Kids enjoy a lot .

Wonderful place in the town of Gruyere to learn about Cailler Chocolates. They have a 30 min tour filled with amazing (and sometimes horrifying) stories about how chocolate was found in the world and how it became such an integral part of our lives. You also get to taste so much chocolate throughout the tour with the only condition being not to take the samples outside the tour area. The price of admission was 15 CHF per person but it was absolutely worth it. Must visit, particularly if you have kids, who will enjoy this experience a lot.You can finally also do some Chocolate shopping at the end of the tour. The best thing about these chocolates is that Cailler doesn't use any palm oil in their chocolates, only cocoa butter, which is so much better for you and the world.

Ritesh Sharan — Google review

Better than I could have expected!!!Maison Cailler Chocolat Tour provides an amazing experience for both adults and kids - the tour is magical and well set, there are hearing kits with a variety of languages, you get to point and pick what you’re gonna hear next. Super interesting.Price about 11€ per adult. There’s the opportunity to smell and taste the chocolates - it’s lovely. At the end of the tour there’s a gift shop with awesome products and some “sales” items. The parking is great and super close to the facilities.

Luisa Balaniuc — Google review

This was awesome! A complete tour explaining the entire history of chocolate (in a fun not so boring way). You also get to see them making it. Virtually unlimited chocolate samples! And the hot chocolate at the cafe was truly incredible!

Mike Roberts — Google review

Unfortunately, we were not able to visit the factory because we did not purchase tickets in advance. We found that the queue could take more than two and a half hours. We sat in the restaurant lounge and had some desserts. It was really delicious. We bought fresh chocolate and the coffee-flavored chocolate tasted amazing. The outside seating area is very nice and provides space for the kids to play and have fun.Really great experience. Don’t forget to purchase your tickets before you go 😊

Mohammad — Google review

I think this is the most enjoyable tour imaginable. It was fun for adults and kids alike. We laughed out loud a good few times! It was great to learn the history of the place. Very generous tasting at the end of the tour and great gift selection. The personalized gift boxes - fantastic idea, we had to stock up. The cafe was excellent, with fast service, with tasty treats. You could smell the chocolate for hundreds of meters!

Monika Rumpf — Google review

Overall a good experience. We were a little sceptical following some reviews here, however we were happy after visiting. You need to buy tickets on a specific time slot. When we were there it was really empty, so no problem. But I think it is worth buying tickets online in advance if you want to visit during peak season. You will get an audio guide (many languages are available) and have first a guided tour which is around 15-20 minutes with some historical information. After this you can go by yourself and explore the rest of the stations. There are several stations where you can taste some chocolate. You can eat as much as you want but it should only be eaten there and not taken home. It's not that big but it's worth a visit. Don't expect to see a lot from production. There is only a production line shown and the rest is not really there. There is a shop which is a little pricey compared to other stores where you get the same products. Big free parking available within a 2-3min walk.

Benjamin K?ry — Google review

I visited the factory in 2017. I took the chocolate train from Montreaux.I had the opportunity to see how the manufacturing process of a legitimate Swiss chocolate is and also to taste and buy the products that exist there. This visit is worth it !

nilcars — Google review

This was a neat walkthrough experience with a good mix of history and factory. There was a ton of free chocolate/nuts on the tour and the tour was offered in numerous languages by individual audio controls. You can see the languages in the attached pictures. I highly recommend if you’re staying in the area or passing through. Kids and adults will enjoy!

Mike Crenshaw — Google review

Great outing for a family! The tour is very accessible and tells the story of the company's history, takes visitors through the factory to watch chocolates be made, and finishing off with a tasting room where visitors can try delicious, fresh chocolates.

Marisa Raymond — Google review

A great place to visit and learn about the history of Swiss chocolate. Interesting narration. Some parts are interactive and at the end we could taste all different types of mass produced chocolates. It’s best to book a time beforehand as we had to wait 1 hour before we could enter.

V v — Google review

Absolutely outstanding experience! Our tour was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Not only did we enjoy a delightful journey through the history of chocolate making, but we were also treated to delectable samples at the conclusion of the tour. I cannot speak highly enough of this experience - it's a must for any chocolate lover visiting Switzerland!Booking tickets online is highly recommended due to the limited time slots available. With only 20 people permitted per 20-minute session, securing your spot in advance ensures you won't miss out on this extraordinary opportunity. This visit truly stands out as one of the most worthwhile experiences in Switzerland. As the oldest chocolate manufacturer in the country still utilizing milk instead of milk powder in their chocolate production, the heritage and quality of the chocolates here are unparalleled. Don't hesitate to make this part of your itinerary - you won't regret it!

Kohulan Rajan — Google review

We paid for a tour here, which was not given to us because of a mishap (technically, several mishaps) with the tour company. Do not buy tours through Tours of Switzerland (booked through Get your Guide). Incredibly disappointing. The place is lovely from the outside and the hot chocolate is delicious though. Hence, 2 stars instead of 1.

Sophie Henning — Google review

Ok this was FUN!!!! I felt like a kid. Chocolate express train picked me up and dropped me off right at factory. I bought tickets at the booth, no line and no wait for the tour. You get a radio according to your language. Then the tour begins!!!Loved the tour, chocolate process and the SAMPLES! I ate more than I should, but they were yummy.Bought some chocolate souvenirs on my way out! 🍫

I’ve had the chance to visit the museum, but what I loved the most was the experience of making chocolate for about an hour. I would 100% recommended as it is very worth it for just 25 Swiss Francs

The experience was really nice and unforgettable , the tour includes a joyful brief of the history of chocolate. The chocolate tasting is just amazing but in matter of comparison , I would definitely recommend Lindt factory.Lindt quality and varieties are way better than Cailler.Lindt factory is more far in matter of distance from Genèva, but it definitely worth the visit and highly recommended over Cailler

The Olympic Museum is a lavish museum dedicated to the history of the Olympic Games. It features interactive displays, temporary themed exhibitions, and site-specific sculptural works. The museum is located next to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee.

Impromptu day trip to Lausanne from Geneva and we visited the Olympic Museum, which is timely. It was informative and had excellent displays of past Olympic events, athletes, medals, etc. There were lots of interactive activities & we especially enjoyed the exercises to test our balance and coordination. The outside was well maintained garden with architectural art and track.

No words can truly express my happiness when I got here. As an Olympic fan, coming close to everything I have always watched on TV was jaw dropping. I was new to the city but traveling from Zurich to Lausanne to see this was completely worth it and the location was easily accessible by bus. Pure love 🙏🏾

I loved this museum!!! The temporary Paris 2024 Marathon was extraordinary as it detailed the history of marathons and was overall very inspiring. The free audio guides explained the permanent exhibit about the history of the Olympics very well. Walking through the gardens outside and seeing the statues was wonderful too. Lausanne is a beautiful city. I would recommend everyone to come here.

Castle

Sights & Landmarks

Chillon Castle is a 13th-century fortress located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The castle is well known for its beautiful lakeside promenade, which makes it a popular tourist destination.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Chillon Castle and it was an incredible experience. The castle itself is absolutely breathtaking, with its stunning location on the shores of Lake Geneva and its beautifully preserved medieval architecture. The tour guides were knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information about the history of the castle and the people who lived there. I was especially impressed by the audio guide, which allowed me to learn even more about the castle and its history at my own pace. The castle's location on the lake made for some breathtaking views and the gardens were a lovely spot to relax and take in the scenery. Overall, my visit to Chillon Castle was a highlight of my trip to Switzerland and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Illia Dobroskok — Google review

The castle is good for a quick evening visit. Takes about 1.5-2 hours roughly to study the captions in great detail and know a bit about the history and the background. The access is easy. There's a boat dock and the railway line that connects the station of Montreux is close by. They do have an entry fee. Some places have access restricted to visitors. You can choose to have an audio guide.

SOUMYANANDA GOSWAMI — Google review

The audio guide provided great narration and compelling stories of the history as well as recent developments and efforts to maintain the beautiful castle. Would recommend setting aside 2 hours for sufficient time to explore the castle.

A smaller but beautiful complete castle. Nice structural components. Beautiful crystal clear water surrounds it including a shallow clear moat. Access to the towers were not allowed which is the only reason for minus a star rating.

Such a beautiful castle. You admire how it is preserved from the ancient years. You can see the transformation if it across the years from room to room. If you follow the recommended plan of the visit, you can see everything, but you are not limited only to this. You can follow your own path and you will always arrive to main open plaza of the castle. The castle has a great view to the Leman lake and it’s so interesting to see how the regions and borders between countries have changed across the years. A beautiful activity for your weekend or free time.

Incredible! Fantastic! Unexpected wonder! Honestly I could not say anything bad about this place especially considering this was a 1 day stopover for us and it was a place I had found online as a recommendation through Social Media. I was not expecting much but as we approached along the walkway on the beach you could see why this has been suggested. Immediately you can see how well preserved this castle is from the moats and walls around the outside and then the rooms, towers and even dungeons on the inside. If you have the time, I would recommend the audio tour to really get an understanding of the castle and its history.

A beautiful island castle located in lake Geneva with interesting history. The castle has various sections showing different functionalities the castle have had in the past. Make sure to take the stairs to climb up the castle to get an incredible view. There were also galleries inside the castle showcasing antique crafts & objects.

Would visit again and again! The castle is one of the best preserved medieval castles having been extensively studied and preserved. You can buy tickets online or in person at the gate. Depending on when you're visiting you're much better off buying ahead. We visited a couple of hours before they closed and didn't feel rushed exploring the castle. You'll get to visit the dungeons, tower keep, living areas, and even the latrines (which shockingly after ~700 years still smell...used). The brochure guide comes in many languages and is extremely helpful for appreciation. There is a gift shop inside and one outside, each with different items. Staff is friendly and speaks English.

It feels like being transported back to the Middle Ages, and whether inside or outside the castle, it's truly astonishing. However, the underground areas gave me a slightly eerie feeling, not because they're bad, but because they're so authentic, making you feel like you're reliving that historical period. The immersive experience is incredibly strong! I recommend renting an audio guide to fully appreciate the charm of the castle.

Awesome castle from the 1200s right on lake Geneva. We did the self guided tour which was easy to follow and took about an hour. Some really cool history and amazing views of the surrounding area. There is also an option for a longer guided tour if you'd like.

Strongly recommend the audio tour. It comes with videos too. 6 bucks and you get great information about the castle that makes every room interesting. Loved the entire trip, would do again.

Well maintained, with good and ample signage in English. Connectivity is good as well with the local buses stopping right outside. Castle itself is intriguing, almost like traveling in time with artifacts and untouched walls from the 13th century.

Beautiful castle from the outside but we did not have a chance to visit. However, we did eat at Cafe Byron (great experience and food!) where I burned myself on the very hot metal barrier. They are aware of the danger as children have also done the same but it is up to the castle to fix. They could easily add wood on top of the metal- I hope they do so no one else gets hurt...

Gorgeous medieval castle on the Geneva lake with beautiful views. There is a museum inside with various exhibitions and lots to see and learn. It is famously linked to an epic poem by Byron named "the prisoner of Chillon". There is a great café just next to the castle and a souvenir shop. There are lots of benches to sit around and enjoy the view and a perfectly manicured garden all around the castle.

Fascinating to see the restored work done through the centuries, 1100s forward. So amazing to be able to walk through a maze of courtyards, covered bridges and rooms while experiencing the historical presence of the structure.Accompanying furnishings are thoughtfully curated and arranged, complemented by painted walls from appropriate periods in history.I didn't get an eerie feeling (although I skipped the dungeon and crypt), as I have before when visiting such a structure. Rather, I felt as if I could possibly have lived there during that time period!

Very beautiful scene around the castle, walkable surroundings everywhere! The best part I guess is 3 hours max of free parking! Never miss if you have nervous of parking panic!

Did not enter the castle but its located in a pretty location on Lake Geneva. Nice walk in the morning from city centre in montreux takes around 40 minutes. Enjoy the various art work along the path to the castle!

Amazing castle in Switzerland. The most visited site and foe good reason. Well preserved, grand in size, and in a stunning location. Highly recommend on a visit to Switzerland

Brilliant castle at the lake shore of Lac Leman. Accessible by train or with a boat/ferry. The tour through exhibition is very well structured and information is available in German/English and French. Using the audio Guide is highly recommended, giving a good understanding of the castle use through the centuries.

Another nice castle to look around. Parking is a bit of a pain but we figured it out. Interesting things to see within and great views around. The climb to the top of the main tower was a particular highlight. One weird thing was their reluctance to sell us a family ticket as we only had one chid - never ever had that before!

Located by the lake, Chillon Castle should be on your list of places to visit when in Montreux not only for its historical significance but also for the views of Montreux. The perfect time to visit would be when the weather is sunny. This ensures that the temperature in the castle is not too cold and you could get a picturesque image by the lake. The Montreux Riveria card which most hotels provide to their guests gives you 50% off the entrance fare. For those who want to learn about the historical and cultural significance of the castle in detail, an audio guide is available. If you decide not to opt for the audio guide, there are also description of each rooms on the walls which you could read.

This is such a remarkably stunning castle in Montreux. Also, it was the inspiration for Prince Eric's castle in Disney's Little Mermaid. How wonderful!

This castle is a hidden gem with a mix of history and beautiful surroundings. Stepping inside feels like a journey through time, and the view from there is simply breathtaking. It's a charming place, making it a memorable visit.

Vanesa CG — Google review

A brilliant construction on the Lake Geneva with a spectacular view. The attention to detail is mind blowing. This castle has a lot of history dating back the mediaeval times. We got a free entry through the swiss travel pass so we checked it out while we were on Montreux. It was a beautiful building with lots of chambers, rooms, towers and hidden secret compartments and doors. They also have a restaurant by the castle which is quite convenient. We can also walk along the lake from the castle which has a breathtaking view. The entire tour has a guided tour or a audio guide to know about the history. A must visit history place while in Montreux, Switzerland.

I can't help but be amazed by all the things preserved in the castle, going through all made me think as if I was travelling back to those olden days.Wished I could spend more time here.Good to visit earlier to avoid crowds.

Beautiful Yvoire, a must see village in France

Winson Lee — Google review

This is the tourism office where you can request for any information and help that you need. Yvoire is a lovely place and was really a super fun and well spent day. I will highly recommend a visit here. Very beautiful with the cobblestone roads, stone and wood houses with beautiful flowers everywhere. Totally fantastic, a place out of a medieval fairytale!

A R — Google review

A city of medieval where wood, stone and flowers meet. You can be lost in the history while you wander in its tiny historical streets. I would like to take pictures of its every single building, gardens and roads. I liked it too much. I highly recommend you to visit this beautiful place.

enoce world — Google review

Yvoire is one of the most beautiful place I've seen around the Leman Lake. The car-free zone is wonderful, with lots of historical buildings.

Avoriaz is one of the 12 resorts in the Portes du Soleil skiing area. It provides more than 600 km of slopes and is an ideal location for families to learn how to ski. The resort is situated at an altitude of 1800m in the French Alps, and it starts snowing from early December.

Great place to learn to ski 🎿 for all thefamily 👪 Situated at 1800m altitude in the French Alps, snowing 🌨 from beginning of December. The skiing resort has all you need at the door step, ski out ski in, ski rentals, skiing schools for kids and adults, learners and advanced slopes, restaurants, huts 🛖 seling hot drinks and pancakes, shops, supermarkets where you can by anything including reading made hot food. We loved the most the restaurants on the slopes, didn't need to go back on the resort for a drink or food, being able to have hot drinks and food enabled us to stay all day on the slopes.

M Megh — Google review

A beautiful large ski resort. It can be quite steep and difficult to walk around. The weather cannot be helped, however in bad weather it can be difficult to get around. Lots of shops and restaurants, not much night life especially if you're staying below the gondola lift as it stops running at 9pm. Pros and cons, however this is my first ski resort so I'm unsure what to compare it against for now.

Bex Middleton — Google review

A beautiful ski resort, easy access straight from the hotels. Horses pulling couples and families right where you ski ⛷️, amazing sight to see

Koendert Kellner — Google review

Fantastic place for a family ski trip! Horse drawn carriages to get around, plenty of shops , restaurants and super markets. The skiing is diverse with something for everyone. The apre ski has plenty of options too! I hear this place can get busy but not the week before Christmas!

Ziggy Austin — Google review

One of the most beautiful places on Earth. A real Winter Wonderland for a Magical Christmas ⛄️

Kevin Ross — Google review

Avoriaz is a brilliant place in winter. Great skiing and snow boarding. Lots of runs and off piste sections. The resort itself is car free but does have snow mobiles, tracked vehicles and horse drawn slays buzzing about. There is plenty of places to eat and lots of entertainment. The swimming pool is super fun and should not be missed, waving to people on the chair lift while sitting in the outdoor outdoor hot tub is fun not to mention the adult only water slide. There is also Ice skating and a pool hall.

Andy Fenney — Google review

Third summer visit. Brilliant car free resort with some amazing mountain views. Lots to do with teenage boys in the resort but also nearby Morzine and les Gets (great new summer sledge there). Lovely restaurants (booking necessary) and kids can safely hang out in the evening playing football or beach volley with other kids. Perfect for downhill mountain bike. We wanted to try the new electric scooter tours but the whole week was already booked up.

Natalie Pajot — Google review

Avoriaz is great. For families it is almost unrivalled I'd say.Having no traffic in the town centre is wonderful, although of course it does come with the (minor) inconvenience of having to trudge everywhere through various depths of snow. The horse drawn sleds are lovely but they are expensive so unlikely that you'll use them a lot.The Portes du Soleil is amazing BUT it's not very high so you really need a good snow year!

James Gray — Google review

We had an incredible Christmas break in Avoriaz. The festive ambiance, car-free resort, and family-friendly activities made it an outstanding experience. We highly recommend it.

Arianne Clar — Google review

Had an amazing trip with some friends, only issue is the large number of people in this resort, a 30 minute wait time to board a ski lift wasnt to our enjoyment. A lack of services to commend for the number of residents is to notice all the same

Alex BR — Google review

A great vehicle free resort a couple of hours away from Geneva airport.I recommend the Port de Soleil pass & you can access posted for miles & over to Switzerland.

A G — Google review

Find a better ski resort. Close to Geneva, good altitude, so snow sure, great variety of accommodation. Great runs. What's not to like.

Dick Sloan — Google review

It's a high ski resort sothe rooms are small and very basicThe restaurants supermarkets and takeaways and other shops + pharmacies are incredibly expensiveJust paid 10euros for a large beer, under a pintFondue was 52 euros for 2Most food and consumables are double UK pricesAfter all that, we had constant snow skiing is good . It was very busy, and at times the occasional 15 - 20-minute queue for a lift which can we worked around if you know where you're going.
