A full-time position is immediately available for aClinical Medical Physicist at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The person hired in this position will provide medical physics services to centers within the central Pittsburgh Region. Our radiation oncology centers are ACRO-accredited, equipped with state-of-the-art RefleXion X1 and Varian linear accelerators such as Halcyon, TrueBeam, iX, with on-board kV imaging, cone-beam CT, respiratory gating, RapidArc, and SRS/SBRT, and utilize ARIA and Eclipse for documentation and treatment planning.
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, regular quality assurance testing of radiotherapy equipment and treatment delivery processes, dosimetric calibration of radiation therapy equipment, SRS/SBRT, VMAT, and IMRT treatment planning and delivery, and oversight of 4D-CT and gated radiation therapy, and various types of brachytherapy procedures. Active participation in clinical and developmental research projects is encouraged. The successful candidate should have demonstrated clinical skills in these areas and is expected to function independently with excellent oral and written communication skills.
The physicist in this position will join a team of 40+ medical physicists across the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network and will be supported by Medical Physics Division leadership. The physicist in this position will have many opportunities to collaborate and advance the Medical Physics Division’s goal of expanding its strong clinical physics program with emphasis on both its academic mission and community-based cancer care.

Qualifications:
Required – M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Physics or Medical Physics; ABR/ABMP Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or Therapeutic Radiology is preferred but not required.
